Harlem is a neighborhood with a lot of history and some of the most beautiful older buildings in NYC. Today we'll show you a few reasons why people love Harlem.
Top right picture you see Strivers Row on West 139th Street. The pretty row houses get their name from a family of middle class African Americans who moved there during the 1920's.
Center right picture you see 125th Street in Harlem. This is the main street for shopping, restaurants and theaters. The famous Apollo Theater is here, (picture next page), and Magic Johnson has a huge movie complex here. The tall building in the center is where former President Bill Clinton has his offices.
Bottom right picture you see the building which was formerly the Theresa Hotel.
