Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday July 16th 2002 "Morning Clark," Tiffany said surprised to see her boss sitting at her desk when she opened the townhouse door where they worked. "Mornin' Tiffany," Clark said glancing up briefly before turning the pages in her appointment book. Tiffany closed the door to the townhouse and walked towards her desk. "I've just been checking your appointments for the next few weeks," Clark said closing her appointment book and standing up. He pushed her chair back and motioned for her to take a seat at her desk. "Is there anything I can help you with Clark?" she asked annoyed with the invasion of her privacy. "No. I just wanted to know if there was anything coming up in the next month that I didn't know about." he said picking up his coffee cup from her desk. "How was your party last night?" Tiffany asked. "Great. It was just great." "Thanks for letting me leave early. It would have been hard to stay there with Amir and his wife together like that," Tiffany said remembering how uncomfortable she was meeting her lover's wife for the first time. "I know. I could see it all over your face when they walked in. Besides I'm sure Amir and Malena were more comfortable too." "I saw the report on TV that you and Nicole are getting married next weekend. Is that right?" "Yeah. It really was a surprise to me. I thought we'd plan the wedding for sometime near Christmas." "What happened?" Tiffany asked taking a seat at her desk as she watched him walk towards the front window of his townhouse and glance out at the courtyard of the MacDougal Mews. "Her Father decided that we should get married on his yacht." "All of a sudden?" "Yeah. Nicole and I were really surprised by the announcement." "Are you happy about it?" "Well, my family said they were a little disappointed they wanted some of their friends to be able to come. This isn't much notice you know." "None really. I mean it's gone from your engagement party to a sudden wedding. What does Nicole think of this?" "She was shocked to tell you the truth. She said her Father hadn't said anything to her about it either until the toast. Right there in front of the TV cameras he said the wedding will be on his family yacht in Florida next weekend." "Wow. Do you think you can be ready?" "I have to be." "Did you ask her Father why the sudden announcement?" "Yeah. He said it's because of his business. He said it was better to do it now while he knew he could attend." "Oh," Tiffany said more convinced than ever that Nicole's Father was a Florida crime boss as the newspapers had reported. She watched as Clark turned from the window to face her. "I'm going to need to go over some things with you," Clark said thoughtfully. "Sure Clark, we've got a week." "No. I'm leaving town. Nicole and I are going to Florida tonight. Her Father has already bought the tickets for us and my family." "Oh," Tiffany said as he walked towards her desk. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
