Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday July 15th 2002
"Tiffany is that you?"  Starlene called out when she heard the front door of their apartment overlooking Washington Square Park close.
"Yeah it's me," Tiffany said locking the door and walking towards the living room.
"What are you doing home so early?" Starlene asked as she picked up the remote for the television and turned down the sound.
"Clark said I could go home as soon as the last guests arrived," Tiffany said taking a seat on the sofa next to her young sister.
"I'm surprised.  He usually wants to get his money's worth out of you doesn't he?"
"Yeah. He came over to me right after Amir and his wife arrived and said 'it seems all the guests are here now.  I know you're uncomfortable, so you can go home early.'"
"Wow.  I know you were glad."
"Yeah, I was almost ready to cry.  Maybe he could tell I was too upset to stay there and watch Amir and Malena together," Tiffany said kicking off her high heel shoes.
"Did you meet her?"
"Yes.  I had to stand at the entrance to the ballroom and greet all of the guests as they arrived. Amir introduced us."
"Does she know who you are?"
"Yeah.  When Amir said this is Tiffany she works for Manhattan Party Planning…Malena said 'I know.'"
"That's it?"
"That's it.  Then Clark came over and said I could leave."
"So you don't know what happened?"
"No. They were getting ready to toast Clark and Nicole and make some kind of announcement right before I left."
"Gee, I wish I could have been there to be on camera," Starlene said glancing towards the TV.  She quickly picked up the remote and turned up the volume when she saw Clark and Nicole on the screen. "Look Tiffany," she said touching her sister's knee as the reporter began to speak.
"Earlier this evening I interviewed some of the guests at the Plaza Hotel. The wedding plans are made for Clark Masters and the pretty Nicole.  Nicole's Father announced they will be getting married next week in Florida on a private yacht owned by the family," the young male reporter said. The screen changed and the TV cameras flashed around the room of the Plaza as the guests were dancing and chatting.  "We also saw a new celebrity face in the crowd at the Plaza tonight.  Mrs. Malena Hada made her first appearance since she awoke from her coma.  After a short break we'll show you what Mr. Hada had to say," the reporter said as the scene changed and the station went to a commercial break.
"Did you hear that Tiffany?  Clark and Nicole are getting married next week!" Starlene said.
"Yeah.  He never told me that," Tiffany said wondering why the secrecy.
"Wow a yacht wedding, how classy.  Do you think you'll be going?"
"I don't have any idea. This is all news to me. I would guess he'll tell me that I have to stay and take care of Manhattan Party Planning while he's gone."
"Here it comes again," Starlene said turning the sound up with the remote.
"Amir!  How does it feel to be going to parties with your wife after her long illness?" the reporter asked sticking a microphone in Amir's handsome face.
"This is very happy…how you say… occasion," Amir said in his broken English.
"I see your wife Malena over there talking with some of the other wives," the reporter said as the cameras zoomed in on the other side of the room where Malena stood with several society ladies.
"Yes, she met many new people tonight."
"Has it been difficult to suddenly be a married man after enjoying the single life for so long?"
"Once Malena go to coma, I never forget her," Amir said as the station went to commercial break.
"I always worried that she was on his mind when we together. Now I know.  I guess it's really over now," Tiffany said.
