Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday July 8th 2002
Tiffany watched the door to the townhouse close as her boss walked out to leave.  The phone on her desk rang as the door closed.
"Manhattan Party Planning," she answered.
"Hi Tiffany.  I'm meeting Stanley for lunch.  Did you pick up my blue skirt from the dry cleaners the other day?" her sister Starlene asked.
"No.  I didn't have time," Tiffany said glancing down at the list of guests Clark had asked her to call.
"What's the matter? You sound awful!"
"I'm worried. I have to call Amir's house and see if he and his wife are coming to Nicole and Clark's engagement party at the Plaza."
"Oh no.  Why? Why do you have to call them?" Starlene asked thinking this was cruel since Amir had been Tiffany's lover until his wife awoke from a coma and came back to NYC to live with him.
"Because Clark thinks he can get some media coverage if a few important people are coming and Amir is one of them," Tiffany said wiping  tears from her cheek.
"Gee, that doesn't sound like fun for you. Hold on, I have another call," Starlene said pushing the button on the phone.  "Hello" she said as someone held the phone then hung up.
"Tiffany are you still there?" Starlene said.
"Yeah."
"That's the third time someone has called and held the phone this morning," Starlene said.
"Oh God.  Be careful Starlene. Clark told me that Megollo isn't going to give up on you,"  Tiffany said referring to Nicole's father's mob associate. 
"Oh, I'm sure he's gone home to Florida."
"Don't be so certain. Nicole is keeping the apartment on Bleecker Street so that her Father's business associates can stay there. He might be there."
"Who told you that?"
"Clark.  He also told me not to tell you but of course I will..." Tiffany said hesitating.
"What?"
"That he doesn't think Stanley will ever get married."
"Oh, what would he know?"
"I'm just telling you what he said. He also said that Megollo really likes you and he doesn't plan on giving up."
"Oh no."
"Yeap.  But you know Clark is so naīve.  He doesn't think that Nicole's Father is mob connected."
"Megollo may as well give up. I think Stanley will decide to get married soon. Maybe he wants to take me on a cruise because he wants it to be in a romantic place when he sets the date."
"I don't know Starlene.  I have to go.  I have to make these calls before Clark comes back to the office."
"Are you going to call Amir?"
"I guess I have to," Tiffany said swallowing hard.
"I guess I'll  hang up I hear another call coming in on call waiting," Starlene said annoyed.
"Be careful Starlene."
"You too," Starlene said hanging up the phone.
Tiffany hung up the phone and sat in silence for a moment wondering how to approach the phone call to Amir's house. She quickly decided that at this time of day his housekeeper would probably answer and it wouldn't be a problem. She picked up the phone and dialed the familiar number of Amir's mansion on Sutton Place and the East River.
"Hello", a strange woman with a foreign accent answered.
