Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday July 4th 2002 "How did it go with you and Stanley last night?" Tiffany asked as she poured herself a cup of coffee. "Strange. He first asked me if I wanted to go on a trip and we'd talk about the wedding date. Then he got a phone call and he said he'd get back to me later. I don't know Tiffany. It seems like I'm not really getting anywhere with Stanley," Starlene said pulling her long T-shirt down as she took a seat on the barstool beside her sister. "Starlene you almost got caught in the limo downstairs with Megollo last night. Another few minutes and Stanley might have seen you and Megollo kissing," Tiffany said remembering how she had rushed downstairs to warn her sister that Stanley had called and was on his way over. "Yeah, he doesn't know that though. I thought you told me that when he called he said he was coming over to talk to me about our wedding date." "That's what he said on the phone." "I asked him a couple of times about it and he kept saying we'd go on a cruise or something. Like I need to go on a trip with him to set the date for our wedding. He's just stalling, that's all," she said pouring a cup of coffee. "You seemed to be hitting it off pretty good with Megollo in the car," Tiffany said remembering how Starlene's top was off of her shoulder when she tapped on the window of the limo last night. "I liked Megollo. But he sure was angry when I told him I had to leave. Very pushy and nasty," Starlene said remembering how angry the young Italian had been. "That's not good Starlene. You know if he works for Nicole's father there's a good chance he's in the mob." "Oh. I'm not worried about it or anything. He's going back to Florida today. He'll probably never call me again. I'm just furious with how hot and cold Stanley can be." "You better watch yourself Starlene. You shouldn't have gotten involved Megollo in the first place," Tiffany said as the phone on the wall beside her rang. "Hello," she said as she placed her coffee cup on the counter. "This is Megollo, I speak to Starlene." "Just one minute," Tiffany said holding her hand over the phone before turning to her sister. "It's Megollo," Tiffany whispered. "I don't know what to do," Starlene said. "Maybe you better talk to him," Tiffany whispered handing the phone to Starlene. "Hello," Starlene said trying to sound upbeat and pleasant. "You spend the night with this Stanley of yours, no?" Megollo asked. "Well, he stopped by and we talked." "You disappoint me. I thought you are sincere woman. I thought your kiss mean something." "I really like you. I'm sorry Megollo. I shouldn't have allowed things to go as far as they did. I'm engaged you know." "I come to you now and we talk." "No. No. It's the Fourth of July. I have to go to a cookout with my sister Tiffany," Starlene said glancing towards Tiffany and seeing the worried look on her face. "I go to this cookout too." "I thought you were going home to Florida today?" she asked. "Not until we understand each other. A man never leave business unfinished. Family motto," he said. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
