Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday July 3rd 2002
"Hi Stanley," Starlene said opening the front door of her apartment to her older lover.
"Hi honey," he said walking inside and closing the door behind him.
"What a surprise for you to stop by like this," she said as she walked towards the living room. 
"Where have you been?" he asked following her into the living room as he watched her hips sway in the short skirt she was wearing.  He noticed she was dressed to kill in her stiletto heels and a low cut top that showed off her ample cleavage.
"Oh, I just ran out for a while," she lied taking a seat on the sofa and patting the cushion for him to join her.
"I called and Tiffany told me you ran out. I really wanted to get things straight between us tonight Starlene," Stanley said.
"What's on your mind Stanley?"
"I want to know if there's any truth to the rumor about you seeing this guy Megollo?" Stanley asked suspicious of where she had been this evening.
"None at all," she lied hoping her lipstick wasn't smeared from kissing Megollo a few minutes ago.
"Good because I've been doing some thinking and I thought maybe I'd take you on a nice trip," he said.
"Trip?" she repeated disappointed. Tiffany had told her that Stanley said he was considering setting the wedding date when he had called earlier.
"Yes.  Maybe you'd like to go on a cruise or something," he said as his familiar fear of commitment crept over him.
"I thought you were coming by because you loved me and you wanted to set the date for our wedding."
"We'll talk about it on the trip.  There's not a rush," he said leaning back on the sofa and lighting his cigar.
"Stanley really?" she said as his cell phone rang.
"Excuse me honey," he said taking the phone from his suit jacket. "Hello," he said.
"Stanley this is Nicole."
"Could I call you later?" Stanley said putting his cigar in the ashtray and starting to loosen his necktie.
"I think you want to hear what I have to say," Nicole said.
"I'm very busy right now.  I'm with Starlene.  Could I call you about that meeting later?" he asked trying to make it sound like a business call.
"Look Stanley.  I'm doing you the favor.  I just thought you would want to know that my Father's associate Megollo just called me from his car," Nicole said.
"Oh.  What did he say?" Stanley asked glancing towards Starlene and watching her as she got up from the sofa and walked towards the window to look down on the sidewalk in front of her building.
"He told me that he was just with Starlene.  He said that she was in his limo with him in front of her apartment building when your car pulled up."
"Really?" Stanley asked watching Starlene pull the drapes open and glance down at the sidewalk.
"Yeah.  He said that he and Starlene were really getting it on in the car when Tiffany came down to warn her that you were on the way over there."
"Really?"
"Yeah.  He said that if he'd had another few minutes he thought he could have gone all the way with her.  I just thought you should know.  I mean Megollo was really mad at her for jumping out of the car to go be with you.  She doesn't have any right to accuse us of anything," Nicole said pleased with her accomplishment.
"Thank you for the information.  I'll be back in touch with you," Stanley said turning off his cell phone and putting it into his pocket as he watched Starlene turn to face him.
