Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday June 25th 2002 "Megollo, no I can't have guests now. I'm busy," Starlene lied. She stood in the kitchen of the apartment overlooking Washington Square Park as she talked on her cell phone. "I come up to see you one minute," Megollo said in his thick Italian accent as his chauffeur watched from the front seat of the limo parked at the curb in front of Starlene's apartment building. "No. No. I can't," Starlene whispered glancing towards the living room where Tiffany was seated on the sofa watching her. "Why? I think we hit it off last night. You no like me?" "Oh, no. It's not that. It's just that I'm getting ready for bed soon." "I help you," he said remembering her voluptuous bosom and shapely figure. "No. You are so funny," Starlene said giggling. "I never be more serious than this. I want to see you." "But I told you when I met you last night that I'm engaged to marry Stanley." "You also tell me that no date is set for this wedding." "That's true, but I think Stanley will set the date soon." "You are not sure of this man, no?" "Well, we haven't set the date, but he did give me a big diamond ring." "I have diamonds. You want diamonds, I give you bigger diamonds," he said. "Right," Starlene said laughing. "You laugh at my affection for you," he said his voice becoming very serious. "No. No…it's that. It's just that I'm engaged." "But last night when I bring you home…I kiss you," he said remembering their embrace in front of her apartment building. He had tried then to get her to take him up to her apartment but she had resisted. "Yeah. But…that was…I don't know," she said wanting to string him along to make Stanley jealous. On the other hand she was afraid to become involved since he worked with Nicole's Father that was a mob boss. "Are you saying that you feel nothing when I kiss you?" he asked clearly annoyed. "No. No. I'm not saying that. It's just that I'm not free," she said as she glanced up and saw Tiffany motioning for her to hang up on him. "I come up and we talk." "No. I can't let you come up." "Why?" "My sister Tiffany is here." Starlene said. "I meet your family now." "No. She's not dressed." "This does not bother me. I come to see you." "No. It really doesn't suit tonight Megollo." "Then I come tomorrow before I go back to Florida." "No. I have other plans tomorrow." "Then you come to my car and we talk tonight." "Where is your car?" "You look out of window you see my car." Starlene walked past Tiffany towards the window of the apartment overlooking Washington Square Park. She opened the sheer drapes and glanced down on the sidewalk. She saw the handsome young Italian get out of the long white limo and look up towards her window holding the phone in one hand and blowing kisses with his other hand. "You come my darling. I wait here all night for you," he said into the phone. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
