Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday June 21st 2002 "Would you like a bottle of wine with dinner?" the waiter asked Stanley. "Yes, please." Stanley said glancing towards Starlene and noticing that she was watching the Italian waiters chatting at the front of the restaurant where they were dining in Little Italy. "What have you been up to lately honey?" Stanley asked glancing at her voluptuous cleavage in the low cut peasant blouse she was wearing. "Not much. It was too hot to do anything today," she said. "Jan came over last night for dinner," he said remembering the miserable evening he had with his daughter. Jan's constant demands for money wore him out. "How's she?" Starlene asked buttering a piece of warm bread and taking a bite. "She's fine. After she left I got a call from Mr. Mascioni," Stanley said referring to Nicole's father. Stanley watched Starlene's face closely for the reaction to his words. "Oh you did?" Starlene said almost choking on her bread as she avoided his eyes. "Yeah. I was surprised to hear from him." "What did he want?" Starlene asked wondering if Nicole had told him about her going to the Plaza Hotel hoping to run into her father. "He said that Nicole had called him and told him that you went to the Plaza Hotel last night looking for him," Stanley lied. It actually had been Nicole that had called him and told him about the events of last night. "Oh. Yes. I did bump into Nicole there," Starlene said after taking a long sip of her water. "Why did you go there?" "I went to talk to Nicole," she lied. "How did you know that Nicole would be there?" Nicole had told him that she had called and left a message with Stanley's housekeeper that she was meeting her Father at the Plaza. The housekeeper remembered writing the message, but all of his phone messages were missing from his desk. "I saw the message on your desk the other night," she confessed. "You took the messages from my desk?" "No. I would never do that," she lied. "Well, I never got the message." "The message was from Nicole, Stanley. It was from Nicole saying that her Father was going to be at the Plaza and she was meeting him there. Why would Nicole call you and leave that kind of message if you aren't seeing her?" Starlene asked as her eyes narrowed. "I don't know Starlene. Maybe it had something to do with the engagement party that I'm helping them with," he lied. "You know that's not it Stanley Morgan." "Well, I don't know. I never got the message. You are the one that got it." "Don't blame me when you're the one that's been foolin' around with Nicole." "Starlene. I heard that you met one of Nicole's father's associates while you were there." "Who told you that?" "Nicole called and told me." "See there, Stanley! Why would she call you like that?" "To confirm the date for the engagement party. Then she mentioned it." "Oh so that was an innocent phone call Stanley?" "Yes," he lied. "I bet." "Did you meet a guy named Megollo?" "Yes I did meet some guy. I think that was his name. Why?" "She said that you went up to a room with him." "Don't you think she would lie to you just to break us up?" "I don't know," he said as the cell phone in her purse started to ring. He watched her pull the tiny phone from her purse and open it as the waiter poured wine in their glasses. "Hello," she answered as she glanced up noticing the Italian waiter looking at her bosom as he poured the wine. "Starlene. Since last night I only think of you... I need you," Megollo said in his sexiest voice. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
