Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday June 18th 2002
Tiffany jumped when she heard the front door of the apartment overlooking Washington Square Park slam shut.
"Starlene is that you?" she asked as she quickly turned down the sound of the television with the remote.
"Yeah, it's me," Starlene said walking towards the living room as her stiletto heels echoed on the hardwood floor.
Tiffany watched as her younger sister walked towards the sofa. Starlene's voluptuous bosom jiggled in the low cut, short red dress she was wearing.
"Are you okay?  I've been absolutely sick with worry Starlene.  I can't believe you would go there to meet a mob boss," Tiffany said as Starlene took a seat in the chair across from the sofa.
"I'm fine.  I told you not to worry," Starlene said, her speech slightly slurred from the wine she had consumed at the Plaza Hotel.
"Well, tell me.  Did you see Nicole's father?"
"No. He'd already left. But I did run into Nicole in the Oak Room."
"Oh God. I bet she was surprised to see you there."
"Oh yeah.  She was shocked. She wanted to know how I knew she was meeting her Father there," Starlene said crossing her legs as the red dress rose up on her thighs.
"What did you tell her?"
"That I found the telephone message on my Stanley's desk.  That I knew she had called him and told him that she was meeting her Father there for dinner."
"And what did she say."
"She didn't deny it."
"Well, what happened Starlene?"
"She said I was crazy to want to tell her Father about Stanley and her."
"That's exactly what I said."
"She made it sound like her Father would kill Stanley if he thought he was chasing her."
"Oh God Starlene!" Tiffany said throwing her hand over her mouth.  "That's why I was so afraid for you to go there tonight," Tiffany said relieved to see her young sister.
"She said her Father would never believe that she was chasing my Stanley.  He would only blame Stanley for the whole thing."
"I bet she's telling the truth about that."
"Maybe," Starlene said.
"What else did she say?"
"That's about it."
"Starlene you were gone for two hours."
"Well that's not all that happened.  I met a business associate of her father."
"Where?"
"In the Oak Room. This guy named Megollo was there having drinks with Nicole and he insisted that I have a drink with them."
"Did you?"
"Yeah."
"You shouldn't have done that Starlene. The newspapers all say her Father is a crime boss. That's dangerous. How did you know this guy wouldn't kill you or something?"
"Well, because he kissed me."
"What?" Tiffany asked quickly sitting on the edge of the sofa when she noticed the smile on Starlene's face.
"Yes.  He kissed me."
"You let him?"
"Well, he walked me out of the Oak Room to leave.  I was going to get a cab but he insisted that his car take me home."
"You didn't take him up on the offer?"
"Yeah."
"You mean he kissed you on the cheek when you got into the car?"
"No.  He kissed me when I got out of the car here at our place."
"You mean he knows where we live?"
