"Would you like after dinner drinks?" the waiter asked as Stanley got up from the table to go to the men's room.
"No, we have to leave early tonight," Stanley said walking towards the back of the restaurant.  He glanced back at the table and saw Starlene and Amir involved in what looked like a serious conversation.
"I'm sorry plans change tonight," Amir said as he watched Starlene fold her napkin and place it on the table beside her.
"Amir.  We don't have long to talk while Stanley's gone.  I need to ask you some questions."
"Of course," he said knowing the conversation would turn to her sister and his lover.
"I know you said your wife couldn't have a dinner party at your place tonight because she wasn't feeling well, but how is she really?"
"She get better everyday," he said in his broken English.
"She is completely over the coma?"
"Doctors say she make complete recovery. But she never remember everything that happen."
"Does she remember you and your marriage?"
"Only when she see picture of our wedding, then she remember some thing."
"How are the two of you getting along?"
"I try hard to make her happy.  This very difficult time for me."
"Why?"
"I miss Tiffany very much."
"Amir, Tiffany's been upset."
"This I regret."
"She says she wants to send your ring back to you."
"No."
"Yes.  She says it doesn't mean anything anymore."
"Tell her to keep this ring.  It means that I love her."'
"Can't you see how she feels.  You're married.  She knows that the two of you won't be together."
"No one know this for certain yet."
"Really?"
"I give her this diamond in love. I still love Tiffany very much.  Nothing change for me except that Malena wake up from coma and come to live here in New York."
"That's a big change though Amir.  Do you expect for Tiffany to wait for you until you decide what to do?"
"This I can only hope.  I have no right under this circumstance."
"I'm glad you understand.  I don't think Tiffany will be available much longer," Starlene said watching his face closely.
"I hope she never see this Skeeter again," Amir said referring to Tiffany's estranged husband that had caused many problems for both of them in the past few months.
"Oh no.  It's not Skeeter.  It's this other guy that's been calling.  He's very wealthy and he's single.  So you know… you couldn't blame her," Starlene lied.  She watched his handsome face and was pleased at the shock and worry she saw over her last remarks.
"Of course. Of course, I have no right" he said visibly upset.
"Will you be bringing your wife Malena to Clark and Nicole's engagement party?" Starlene asked glancing up to see Stanley walking towards the table.
