"I'm in here Tiffany," Starlene called out when she heard the door close to their apartment overlooking Washington Square Park.
"Hi," Tiffany said walking into the living room and throwing her purse on a chair.
"How was your day?" Starlene asked without looking up from the Modern Day Brides magazine she was reading.
"Horrible," Tiffany said kicking off her shoes and taking a seat on the sofa beside her sister.
"What's wrong?" Starlene asked glancing up at Tiffany's long face.
"Oh, just a long day. I guess they'll all be long now."
"How was it with Nicole and Clark today?"
"He was out of the office most of the day on sales calls that she was supposed to be making."
"Why was he making her sales calls?"
"Because she got up late and came down stairs in a sheer robe when she was supposed to be leaving for her sales calls," Tiffany said remembering the look in Stanley's eyes when he came by and saw Nicole dressed only in the sheer white robe.
"I'm sorry she's such a pain but I'm so glad she doesn't work in the office with my Stanley anymore," Starlene said.
"Yeah.  I bet you are," Tiffany said.  She thought about the hour that Stanley spent upstairs alone with Nicole while Clark was gone.  She couldn't forget  the sound of the bed hitting the wall.
"I don't think she'll marry him," Starlene said.
"Well it looks like she's going to."
"What makes you think so?"
"Because he's giving her an engagement party."
"Really?"
"Yeah and Amir's been invited…with his wife," Tiffany said.
"Oh my God.  Is he coming?"
"I don't know.  But I've got to know if he's bringing his wife and how she feels about me."
"I'll find out for you," Starlene said.
"What?  What are you talking about?"
"Stanley invited me to go to a dinner tonight at Amir's and his wife will be there."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Look what do you think of this?" Starlene asked holding up the magazine for her sister to see a picture of a bridal gown.
"Nice."
"I never thought about an engagement party. That's a great idea.  I'm going to ask Stanley if we can have one.  Maybe have all of the media there and everything," Starlene said glancing back down at the low neckline of the bridal gown.
"Where are you going to dinner with Amir?"
"His mansion," Starlene said.
"When did you find this out Starlene?" Tiffany asked shocked.
"I was suppose to have brunch with Stanley today, but he got tied up this morning in a meeting.  He called me after lunch and told me he'd planned a special surprise.  He said he was worried about me telling you though.  He thought you might get upset and be jealous."
"Oh he did?" Tiffany said remembering her private conversation with Stanley when he practically threatened her if she told her sister about his upstairs meeting with Nicole today.
"He said he knew you'd be resentful that Amir was happy. Stanley's even afraid you'd be jealous that we're getting married."
"Oh really," Tiffany said raising her eyebrows.
"Yeah.  You aren't angry are you Tiffany?"
"No, of course not," she lied.
"Good.  I better get ready to go," Starlene said dog earring the page in the magazine.
"If I get alone with Amir tonight is there anything you want me to ask him for you?"
"Yeah.  Tell him I'd like to give him his ring back," Tiffany said glancing down at the large diamond on her finger.
