Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday April 30th 2002 "Just be cool, okay?" Nicole said as she and Clark walked into the restaurant in Little Italy. "Nicole is it true what the newspaper said?" Clark asked referring to the front-page article stating that her Father was a Florida crime boss. "Like I would really go around talking about it," she said laughing at his nervousness. "It is true then, isn't it?" he asked wiping his damp hands on his trousers as the waiter walked towards them. "Miss Mascioni, your usual table is ready," the waiter said. "Is my Father here?" "Not yet." She and Clark walked towards the back of the small restaurant as the waiters all nodded their heads when Nicole walked past them. "I bring you wine?" the waiter said pulling out her chair for her as Clark took a seat beside her. "Sure," she said as the waiter walked towards the bar. "Is your Father angry with me for anything?" "Clark, my Daddy's doesn't know we've been doing it, okay?" she said as another waiter standing near the table smiled knowingly. "Shhh, Nicole. I think the waiter might have heard you and he probably knows your Father." "He works for my Father." "Oh God. I never knew any of this. Did Stanley know all of this when he sent you to work in the office with me?" "Of course he knew." "Someone should have told me Nicole. Someone should have told me." "There's Daddy now," Nicole said as a man held the front door of the restaurant open. "That's him?" "No. That's his body guard," Nicole said dipping a piece of Italian bread into a bowl of fresh herbs and Extra Virgin olive oil. "Oh God." "Just be cool Clark. Daddy will like you." "I hope so," Clark said as he saw a well-dressed dark haired man with graying temples walking towards their table. "Good evening," Clark said standing and extending his hand to her Father. "Good evening. Please sit down," Mr. Mascioni said as a waiter pulled out his chair for him to take a seat at their table. "So you are the man that my Nicki work for, no?" "Yes. She's a great worker," Clark said. "She never learn to type. She never work before, but you say she is great worker?" "Yes, she's really great." "You have other secretary name Tiffany that works there, no?" "Yes. Nicole told you?" "Of course my Nicole tell me everything… Everything," he said taking a sip of the wine that the waiter had just poured for him to taste. "This wine is very good," the older man said as the waiter filled their glasses. "We toast now," Mr. Mascioni said raising his glass as he watched Clark and Nicole pick up their glasses and touch his glass. "To my daughter's future. I let nothing stand in the way," he said taking a sip of his wine. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
