"Nicki you tell me what this mean," Mr. Mascioni said in his thick Italian accent. He threw the newspaper on the table of his hotel room as he watched his young daughter take a seat on the sofa.
  "I bailed Skeeter out of jail Daddy, that's all," she said turning to look out of the window.
"Who is this man Skeeter that you bail out?"
"He's a nice guy."
"What does he do?"
"He's a lingerie salesman."
"Lingerie?  Wholesale or retail?"
"Wholesale," she said knowing this would please her Father.
"But the newspaper they say this man he is married, no?"
"Well, he's separated from his wife."
"And his wife is the woman that sees Amir Hada, this builder," he said pointing to the newspaper article on the table with the picture of Amir being taken to the hospital after Skeeter assaulted him.
"Yes."
"Why Nicki.  Why do you get involved in such affairs?"
"Because Skeeter called me from the jail and asked me to get him out. He didn't have anyone else to help him."
"Why you care for this man?"
"He's nice."
"Nice. You mean he take you out?  He sleep with you, what you mean by nice?"
"He lives near me. I met him at the dry cleaner."
"This dry cleaner is one of my people?"
"No. No I don't think you know them."
"Then tell me what this mean?"
"I just like Skeeter.  He's aggressive Daddy. You'd like him."
"Yes I see his aggression.  He have no fear."
"Yeah, you'd like him."
"But he is married to this woman and he calls my daughter to help him. This I no like."
"Well, it's my fault Daddy not his."
"How this new job you take?" he said changing the subject.
"At Manhattan Party Planning?"
"Yes.  You still work there, no?"
"Yes."
"You don't see this Stanley Morgan now?" he said remembering the talk he had with Stanley when he found out he had been intimate with Nicole.
"No.  No Daddy, I don't see Stanley anymore."
"Good.  This man is too old for you Nicki. You find man that is suitable and get married."
"Skeeter wants to get married."
"But he is married now to this Tiffany, the newspaper say."
"That's the problem.  She won't give him a divorce.  She's seeing Amir and he's married and she holds on to Skeeter too."
"This kind of woman I have no use for in life," the older man said pacing the floor of his hotel room.
"I hope Clark will fire her now that he has me," Nicole said.
"You like this Clark that you work for?"
"Oh yes, he's great."
"Good. I meet him tonight."
