Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday April 16th 2002
"No Stanley.  I don't know why Skeeter would call Jan," Tiffany said. "Did you ask her?" she asked as she paced the floor of her apartment overlooking Washington Square Park.
"Yeah.  She said she thought that you probably told him to," Stanley said shrugging his shoulders as he held his cell phone to his ear.  He listened as he waited for an answer from the operator at St. Vincent's Hospital.
"Why?  Why would I tell Skeeter to call Jan?" she asked trying to contain her rage.  She had suspected many times that her estranged husband was seeing Jan.
"Because she's rich.  I don't know, you tell me."
"Maybe Jan is seeing my husband," Tiffany said unable to hide her anger.
"Never!  Never would Jan see
him," Stanley said laughing as he picked up his cocktail from the coffee table and took a long sip.
"Maybe you should check into that Stanley. I think that maybe Jan is seeing Skeeter.  Don't you Starlene?" Tiffany asked turning to her young sister for support.
"I don't know Tiffany," Starlene said turning her head to avoid looking into her sister's eyes.
"I've told you many times that I thought Jan was seeing Skeeter Starlene," Tiffany said.
"Yes this is Stanley Morgan. I need to get some information on the condition of my associate Amir Hada," Stanley said into the phone holding up his hand for Tiffany and Starlene to be silent so he could hear. "Yes. Yes.  What did they say?  Thank you so much," Stanley said closing his cell phone.
"What?" Tiffany asked.
"He's alive.  They say he lost a lot of blood, but he's expected to live."
"Oh thank God," Tiffany said as fresh tears rolled down her cheeks.
The phone on the coffee table rang and Starlene glanced at her sister.
"You get it please Starlene," Tiffany said shaking her head as if she couldn't bear anymore today.
"Hello.  Just a minute Skeeter," she said handing the phone to Tiffany.
"Hello," Tiffany said barely able to hold the phone in her trembling hands.
"Hay Baby.  I'm sorry about what happened."
"Sorry!  You're sorry.  Is that what you are going to say?"
"Look Baby.  I lost it.  I couldn't help it. That damn guy was giving me lip.  Standing in front of my wife's apartment.  He thought he could roll up in his big limo and go upstairs and be with you.  Just like that.  The dude's married."
"That didn't give you any right to hit him Skeeter."
"He hasn't got any right to be banging my old lady either. Just cause he's got money and some buildings it don't give him a license to steal my wife."
"Skeeter you lied too. You lied to the police."
"What are you talking about?"
"They said you told them that I asked you to get rid of Amir.  That Amir wouldn't leave me alone."
"You told me yourself you were upset. You told me you were angry that his wife came home and he dumped you.  No rich foreigner's going to dump my wife right on TV like that."
"You didn't have any right to do that Skeeter.  What do you expect from me now?"
"I expect for you to get some bail money for me and get me out of here."
"You think I would pay to get you out of jail?" Tiffany asked glancing towards Stanley and Starlene shaking her head in disbelief.
"Yes.  Get me out of here right now!" Skeeter screamed into the phone.
"Did you call Jan and ask her to get you out Skeeter?" Tiffany asked glancing towards Stanley.
"Of course not," he lied.
"Her Father Stanley is here right now and he says you did."
"Did he talk to me? Did he?"
"Skeeter rot. Rot in jail. Rot in hell," Tiffany said slamming down the phone.
