Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday April 12th 2002 "I don't know what to do…" I want to go to St. Vincent's Hospital and see how Amir is but I'm worried that his wife might be there," Tiffany said pacing back and forth in front of her apartment window overlooking Washington Square Park. "I'll turn on the TV maybe they'll have something on the news," Starlene said picking up the remote to the TV and turning to the local 24-hour news coverage station. "And we expect to hear more about the rebuilding of downtown from the Mayor within the next few days," the reporter said as the scene changed to a commercial break. "Starlene how bad do you think Amir is hurt?" Tiffany asked glancing out the window at the sidewalk below and the yellow police tape around a pool of blood on the sidewalk. "When Skeeter hit him his head hit the sidewalk really hard," Starlene said remembering the horrible scene from a few minutes ago. "I see the blood all over the sidewalk. Oh God. What if Amir…" she said stopping herself as the tears rolled down her cheeks. "Dead?" "Yes. Then Skeeter will go to jail for murder!" "Tiffany don't think that way. I mean I think Amir was breathing when they put him into the back of the ambulance." "I've got to do something. I can't stand here while my lover is in the hospital and my husband is in jail," Tiffany said starting to pace back and forth in front of the living room window. A knock on the living room door interrupted her pacing. "I'll see who it is," Starlene said jumping up from the sofa and walking to the door. She opened the metal peephole and looked through into the hallway. "It's the police Tiffany," Starlene whispered. "I guess we have to let them in," Tiffany said rushing to the front door to stand behind her sister. Starlene opened the metal door and smiled at a police officer and a detective dressed in a beige overcoat and sunglasses. "Sergeant McDowell Madam," the detective said flashing his badge at Starlene and Tiffany. "Come in," Starlene said holding the door open for them to enter. "Which one of you is Tiffany Diamond?" the police officer asked. "I am." "And you witnessed the crime is that right?" the officer asked looking towards Starlene. "That's right I was right there when it happened," Starlene said. "Come in and have a seat," Tiffany said as they all walked into the living room and pointed towards the sofa. "How bad is Amir hurt?" Tiffany asked taking a seat on the sofa beside her sister as the two men sat in chairs across from them. "I don't know. What is your relationship with the victim?" the detective asked Tiffany. "We're friends," Tiffany said watching him take out a notepad and start writing notes. "Friends…or do you mean lovers?" "Yes we're lovers," Tiffany said rubbing her hands together to try and stop them from shaking. "And the accused…what is your relationship with him?" "He's my ex-husband," Tiffany said. "Ex? Are you divorced?" "No…not exactly." "Did you know that your husband Mr. Diamond was coming to see you?" "No." "Are you sure Mrs. Diamond. He says that you were expecting him." "That's not true." "Then you didn't ask your husband, Mr. Diamond to stop Mr. Hada from coming to your apartment?" "Of course not." "Isn't it true that you were upset over Mr. Hada's wife coming back to the United States?" "Well…" Tiffany hesitated as the TV station started showing previously recorded tapes of the scene outside her apartment. They all turned to see the pictures of blood on the sidewalk in front of Tiffany's apartment building. They watched as the policemen led Skeeter handcuffed to the police car. Another policeman put his hand on top of Skeeter's head as Skeeter slid into the back of the patrol car. "Why did you do this Mr. Diamond?" a reporter asked sticking a microphone near Skeeter's face. "For my wife, Tiffany. That rich married foreigner wouldn't leave her alone. She asked me to help her. What would any good American husband do?" Skeeter asked right before the car door slammed. "Now we'll go to St. Vincent's Hospital for a report on the injuries Mr. Hada has suffered," the reporter said with a grave expression on his face. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
