Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday April 11th 2002
Tiffany stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around her.  She thought she heard something at her front door.  She opened the bathroom door as she heard the front door slam. "Is that you Amir?" she called out wondering if her lover had arrived.  She thought perhaps her sister might have left the door unlocked in their doorman building across from Washington Square Park.
"It's me Tiffany," Starlene said rushing down the hallway towards Tiffany's bathroom door.
"I thought you had gone to Stanley's," Tiffany said taking a bottle of body lotion from the cabinet.
"Tiffany I think you better come out here," Starlene said walking to the bathroom door and glancing in at her sister.
"What's the matter?" Tiffany asked pulling the belt on her terry cloth robe tighter and stepping out of the steamy bathroom.
"It's Amir," Starlene said biting her lip.
"What?  Amir's here already?" Tiffany asked walking out into the hallway of their apartment and looking around nervously.
"No.  He's in the hospital," Starlene said as tears started to roll down her cheek.
"His wife again?" Tiffany said referring to his sick wife that had recently come out of a coma.
"No.  Come sit down Tiffany," Starlene said walking towards the living room as Tiffany followed taking a seat beside her on the sofa.
"Starlene what?  What happened?"
"I was leaving the building going to Stanley's and Skeeter came along.  He stopped to talk to me and Amir's limo pulled up."
"Oh my God!"
"Yes.  Amir got out of the car and some words were exchanged and Skeeter hit him hard.  Really hard Tiffany."
"Oh God!" Tiffany said throwing her hand to her forehead. "Is Amir okay?"
"I don't know Tiffany. They took him to the hospital."
"Hospital!  Oh my God.  Is he seriously hurt?"
"I don't know."
"Where's Skeeter?"
"They arrested him."
"Arrested!"
"Yes the limo driver called the police and they took him to jail."
"Oh my God.  This is horrible. What hospital did they take Amir to?"
"St. Vincent's, I think."
"What should I do Starlene?"
"I don't know.  Maybe I should call Stanley and see what he thinks."
"No.  Don't do that.  The less people that know about this the better," Tiffany said as the phone started to ring on the table next to her.
"Hello," Tiffany said as she quickly grabbed the ringing phone.
"This is TV channel New York Never Sleeps. Could we speak to Tiffany Diamond please."
"No," Tiffany said her voice cracking under the strain.
"Is she there?"
"No, Tiffany isn't here.  Don't call back," she said hanging up the phone.
"Can you believe that.  The damn news reporters calling here already!" Tiffany said.
"Yeah.  They were here."
"I didn't hear anything, but I was in the shower. Are they gone now?" Tiffany asked. She jumped up and ran towards the window and looked down at the sidewalk in front of her building.  "Oh God Starlene.  The sidewalk is covered with reporters and there are news vans parked all the way down MacDougal Street."
"I know."
"Did they try to talk to you?" Tiffany asked quickly glancing towards her sister.
"Well…" Starlene said hesitating.
