Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday April 10th 2002 "Mr. Hada… I call police!" the limo driver called out rushing back towards Amir's long white limo that was parked at the curb in front of Tiffany and Starlene's apartment building across from Washington Square Park. "No. No call authorities. Mr. Diamond and I discuss matter," Amir said in his broken English. The doorman and a small crowd of people watched the heated encounter between the celebrity Amir and Tiffany's angry husband. "I've wanted to talk to you for years now," Skeeter said edging closer to Amir. "We talk as gentlemans," Amir said in a hushed voice. "Gentlemen. You call yourself a gentleman? You come to the United States and steal another man's wife. That's a gentleman?" Skeeter said his face reddening. "Skeeter come on let's go," Starlene said trying to grab her brother-in-law's sleeve. "Leave me alone Starlene," Skeeter said jerking his arm away. "Mr. Diamond. I think it be better to talk another time in private," Amir said. "Fine. You want to go upstairs to Tiffany's apartment?" "No," Amir said looking towards his limo driver. He saw him standing outside the car talking nervously on the phone. He knew Tiffany was upstairs totally unaware of the dangerous situation developing on the sidewalk below. "I know what you came here for! You've been coming here for years now. You've come here for my wife. You've been leading Tiffany on, using her. Just because you have money you think you can use American women," Skeeter said walking a couple steps closer to Amir. "Mr. Diamond I discuss this no more with you in this…how you say…manner," Amir said turning to look down the street when he heard the sound of police sirens coming towards the park. "I'll tell you how you say… I say you're a foreigner that's interfered with my marriage. You've hurt my wife. You've ruined my marriage and now you're here trying to go up to my wife's apartment. Just like that. You think you can walk past me and go up there to be with my wife. You better think again," Skeeter said grabbing the arm of Amir's designer suit. "Skeeter come on! You're going to get in trouble," Starlene said walking towards him as Skeeter held up his arm to keep her back. "I assure you Mr. Diamond you are wrong," Amir said. "I don't think you can assure me of anything. It'll be a cold day in hell when I have a foreigner like you telling me anything," Skeeter said pulling Amir closer to him by the arm of his suit coat. "Skeeter stop!" Starlene said. "You better go back to your country. Go back to your sick wife. Leave my wife alone." "Let his arm go," the limo driver said rushing back towards Amir and Skeeter. "Go back to your car and shut up," Skeeter said glancing towards the limo driver. "Police are coming now," the limo driver said stopping a safe distance on the sidewalk from the two men. "I guess I don't have much time then," Skeeter said quickly drawing back his arm and swinging his fist into Amir's jaw. Amir fell backward from the sudden impact hitting his head full force on the sidewalk. The crowd that had gathered to watch the encounter jumped back towards the curb gasping loudly. "Amir! Are you alright?" Starlene screamed. "That's enough!" a policeman said running towards the entrance to the apartment building. The policeman grabbed Skeeter's arms and brought them behind his back and quickly snapped on the metal handcuffs. "He's the one you need to arrest!" Skeeter screamed as the officer led him towards the waiting police car parked at the curb as the lights flashed and more people stopped to watch. "Someone call the paramedics, I think Amir's really hurt!" a pretty young NYU student cried out as she pointed towards the blood on the sidewalk around Amir's head. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
