"Good luck Tiffany.  I'll call you before I come back to the apartment.  If you need the apartment alone with Amir all night I can stay at Stanley's," Starlene said standing in the doorway of their apartment overlooking Washington Square Park.
"Okay.  I'm sure Amir won't be here long.  He'll probably have to rush back to his wife you know," Tiffany said referring to Amir's wife that had just come back to New York after coming out of a long coma.
"I know you don't need my advice…but I think you should keep seeing him. This wife of his is still probably still sick.  I mean she did come out of the coma once and slipped back."
"Okay, Starlene.  I don't plan on seeing him anymore after today though. He's married and that's that."
"Whatever, it's your life," Starlene said turning and getting on the elevator waving goodbye to her sister as she watched her close the apartment door.
The elevator quickly descended to the street level and the doors opened. Starlene walked out into the hallway and towards the front door.  She gazed up and smiled as she watched the doorman admiring her short skirt. He pushed open the heavy front door for her.
"Have a good day," the doorman said as he watched her walk out onto the sidewalk across from Washington Square Park.
"Starlene!" a familiar male voice called out from a distance.
Starlene turned holding her hand above her eyes to block the strong rays of the bright sunshine.  She squinted as she glanced across the street to the sidewalk and Washington Square Park.
"Starlene!"
"Hi Skeeter!" she said as her estranged brother in law ran across MacDougal Street towards the entrance to her apartment building.
"How ya doing?" Skeeter asked kissing her lightly on the cheek.
"I'm great. What are you doing?"
"I was on my way to Jefferson Market.  You headin' out?"
"Yeah. I thought I'd go shopping or something.  Give Tiffany some time alone."
"Is she okay?"
"She's upset about Amir and his wife.  I'm sure you saw it all over the news that Amir's wife came out of the coma."
"Yeah and I talked to Tiffany last night on the phone."
"Really?  She didn't tell me that."
"I think your sister is still in love with me."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Has she been talking about me?"
"No she didn't mention you."
"Yeah she called me last night and sounded really lonely. She said that you had your lover Stanley over at the apartment."
"Yeah… Look!" she said holding out her hand and turning it so that the large diamond ring sparkled in the bright sunshine.
"You going to marry Mr. Money Bags?"
"Yeap!"
"Wow, that's great Baby.  Congratulations. When's the big day?"
"Don't know yet."
"That's really great.  You'll be sitting pretty when you marry him."
"I hope so."
"I guess Tiffany's upset 'cause her rich boyfriend dumped her."
"Well, I don't know if he really dumped her or not," Starlene said watching the familiar looking long white limo pull over to the curb.
"What do you mean?"
"Why don't we go somewhere and get coffee," she asked taking him by the arm.
