Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday March 22nd 2002 "I'm in here," Starlene called out from the living room of the apartment she shared with her older sister overlooking Washington Square Park. "Would you make me a drink?" Tiffany called out as she hung up her jacket and walked into the living room. "You almost never drink. Oh God, what's wrong?" Starlene asked. She poured her sister a glass of wine from the decanter on the coffee table and handed it to her as she took a seat on the sofa beside her. "I think it was a mistake for me to move to New York," Tiffany said flatly before taking a long sip of the wine. She placed the glass on the coffee table with trembling hands. "What on earth has happened? I thought you went to dinner with Amir tonight." "I did. He dropped some really big news on me," Tiffany said wiping a tear from her cheek. "What?" "His wife Malena is out of the coma." "Oh no. That's too bad." "Yeah. It gets worse too." "Let me guess he's going back to his country to be with her." "She's coming here." "Oh no!" Starlene said throwing her hand over her mouth. "Yes. Just when we were getting along so well. I thought maybe we would have a future and now this." "Does she remember him?" "I don't know. He didn't say too much about it except that his Mother-in-law thought it was best that Malena be with him." "When is she coming?" "I don't know Starlene. I was so upset I left the restaurant as soon as our dinner arrived. I just couldn't stay there and face him after this." "I wish you knew when she's coming." "Well, it wouldn't make much difference." "Look! Look!" Starlene said pointing towards the screen of the television and grabbing the remote to turn on the muted sound. Tiffany turned quickly to see her lover Amir on TV in front of his mansion on the Upper East Side. "We've heard reports that your wife Malena has awakened from her coma," the male reporter said walking beside Amir holding a microphone to his handsome face. "Yes." "Could you tell us how she is doing?" "I only know she awake," Amir said in his broken English wondering how the reporters had heard the news so quickly. "We also hear that your wife is coming back to New York." "Yes." "How will this affect your business and your spa, Manhattan Gold International?" "Nothing change," Amir said rushing towards his front door as the reporter struggled to stay in step with him. "How about your relationship with the other woman?" the reporter asked as the camera zoomed in on Amir's face. "I have no comment." "Are you denying that you have other women in your life?" "No comment. This personal affair." "We hear your wife will be here soon. Have you made any special arrangements for her." "No comment," Amir said closing the door of his mansion. "The reports are that Mr. Hada's wife will be arriving in NYC within the next few days," the reporter said. "Now back to you Sue in the studios." "One more question Rick," the woman reporter in the newsroom said. "Yes," he answered as the camera came back to him standing in front of Amir's front door of his Sutton Place mansion. "Amir has been spotted occasionally the last few years with a woman named Tiffany Diamond. Has anyone seen her? Are they any reports of her reaction?" CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
