"Is that you?"  Starlene called out picking up the remote to the television and turning it down when she heard the front door of the apartment close.
"Yeah," Tiffany answered taking off her jacket and hanging it beside the door. She walked into the living room of the apartment the sisters shared overlooking Washington Square Park.
"What's the matter?  You look beat." Starlene said.
"I am beat," Tiffany said taking a seat on the sofa beside her younger sister.
"What happened?  Hard day at work?"
"Interesting would be a better word I suppose."
"Okay, what did she do?" Starlene asked knowing it must have something to do with Nicole.  Nicole had worked for her lover Stanley until she caught her in the office with him on the sofa. 
"Oh yes, it was her alright."
"Tell me, tell me," Starlene said hitting the sofa with her fist.
"She was gone all day long for this appointment with a friend of her Father's that was supposed to book a party."
"All day for one appointment?"
"Right."
"Did she get the sale?"
"She never went on the appointment."
"Get out of here!"
"No she came back late this afternoon and went upstairs with Clark when the man called and wanted to know why she didn't come by."
"Wow! And she told Clark she had gone there?"
"That's what she led us to believe…" Tiffany said raising her eyebrows.
"I bet Clark is furious. I just hope he doesn't fire her Tiffany.  She can't work in the same office with my Stanley again."
"I don't think he'll fire her."
"Why do you say that. If she doesn't even bother to show up for her appointments on her first day of the job."
"Because I went upstairs right before I left this afternoon and they were in the office together."
"Uh!  What were they doing?" Starlene asked as her eyes widened.
"The door was closed. I needed to have Clark sign a check before I left.  You know I have never had to knock on his office door before…" Tiffany said.
"What. Tell me quick what?"
"I opened the door and she was stretched out on the sofa in her stocking feet with her skirt way up and her head back on a sofa pillow."
"Where was he?"
"He was sitting beside her bending forward.  I couldn't tell if he had been kissing her or talking to her."
"She's up to it again Tiffany.  She's after Clark now," Starlene said knowingly.
"Yes.  I think so too."
"What did he do when you came in?"
"He just turned and looked at me and said 'what Tiffany?'
"What did you do?"
"I just said I'm sorry. This can wait and I turned and left."
"Did they come out?"
"No. They were still up there when I left today."
"What do you think?" Starlene asked as the phone rang on the table by the sofa.
"I don't know.  Hello" Tiffany said picking up the phone.
"Tiffany.  I need to talk to you," Amir said.
"Sure. Is it something important?" she asked noticing the urgency in his voice.
"Very important," he said in his broken English.
