Skeeter walked into the bedroom of his apartment overlooking Bleecker Street and let the damp towel wrapped around him fall to the hardwood floor.  He picked up a bottle of cologne from the table beside the bed and gave himself a generous splashing.  He glanced towards the mirror and noticed he'd put on a few pounds. The cell phone on the table next to the bed rang and he quickly picked it up as he made a mental note to start doing push ups tomorrow.
"Yeah," he answered.
"Skeeter how are you?" Nicole asked.
"Nicole?"
"Yeah.  You haven't forgotten me already?"
"No.  How are you?"
"Great."
"That's good."
"I thought maybe you would like to go out to dinner tonight."
"Well, I'm kinda busy this afternoon," he said walking towards his closet with his cell phone and taking out pants and a sweater to wear to Jan's house tonight for dinner.
"You still seeing Jan?"
"Yeah.  I'm going to her house for dinner tonight," he said.
"Really?  Wow.  I thought she'd be angry after catching us rockin' your futon across the living room," she said referring to the heated session they were having when Jan stopped by his apartment a few weeks ago and caught them together.
"She was really mad. But I think I've smoothed things over with us."
"Why do you want to see her?"
"She's got assets," he said thinking about Jan's money.  He also knew Jan could easily call his boss and her friend Bob to have him fired at anytime.
"Assets.  You must mean money?"
"Well, yeah," he said putting the cell phone on his shoulder as he sat on the edge of his bed putting on his pants.
"When it comes to the other assets she doesn't have anything to compare to mine. Does she?" Nicole asked seductively.
"You're got a lot goin' for ya Baby," he said remembering her young firm body.
"You seem like a smart man to me Skeeter."
"I am," he said confidently.
"If you met a woman with more money than Jan and she was better equipped to satisfy your needs wouldn't you go for it?"
"What are you getting at Nicole?"
"I've got more money than Jan."
"You never told me that one before."
"I thought you were only interested in one thing."
"What are you proposing?"
"That we stay friends. I don't see why you let Jan tell you what to do."
"Well, Jan's connected.  You know what I mean?"
"Your job. Is that it?  You'll lose your job if she gets angry with you?
"Well, let's just say I know what side my bread's buttered on," he said.
"Then I was right.  That's it. Wasn't I more satisfying?"
"Yeah," he said honestly.
"Then you can have it all Skeeter.  I don't care if you see Jan and get her money.  I still want to see you," she said.
"Alright, Baby," he said zipping his pants as he glanced towards the mirror to admire his physique.
