Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday February 12th 2002
"Nicole, this is very serious.  A man of my standing in New York can't be linked to a scandal," Stanley said taking a seat at his desk in his office in the Empire State Building.
"It's nothing Stanley. Father couldn't possibly know everything about us."
"I think he does," Stanley said starting to light his cigar but changing his mind as he felt another pain in his chest.
"I could kill Vinny for ratting on me like this."
"Why didn't you tell me that you had a boyfriend and that you were engaged."
"Because I wanted to be with you Stanley."
"We still could have been together but I needed to know about this Vinny."
"I never thought Vinny would tell my Father this kind of thing."
"He must have felt desperate.  He thought he was losing you I guess."
"Well, he's certainly lost me now," she said pacing the floor in front of Stanley's desk in her high heel Italian boots and short leather skirt.
"But your Father wants you to marry this guy."
"Yeah.  Father wants me to marry him so I'll settle down."
"Then marry him."
"I don't love him. I only got engaged to him so my Father would let me move to New York.  Father thought if I was engaged to Vinny I'd behave myself."
"He was wrong about that," Stanley said glancing towards the sofa remembering their lunch hours of heated passion.
"What exactly did Father say?" she asked taking a seat in the chair in front of his desk her skirt rising high on her thighs.
"He said that Vinny came back to Florida and showed him the proofs of the pictures of you posing for Playbody.  He said he trusted Vinny to take care of you and that he had 'let him down.'"
"I'll just have to cancel my job with Playbody that's all."
"You told me that your Father knew about it and didn't mind me arranging the modeling job for you."
"Well, I didn't want you to know that he would be upset, I was afraid you wouldn't help me get the job."
"Didn't you think he'd see the pictures Nicole?" Stanley asked incredulously glancing at her short skirt as she crossed her legs.
"I just want my Father and Vinny both to leave me alone and let me do what I want.  I'm a grown woman."
"Your Father doesn't seem to feel that way Nicole.  He doesn't seem to trust you.  Why?"
"Oh.  It's just this thing back in high school."
"What?"
"I got expelled when I was caught with my homeroom teacher in the supply room."
"Really?" Stanley said sitting up on the edge of his chair.
"What happened?"
"He died a few weeks later and it caused some publicity."
"What happened to him?"
"They found him early one morning on a pier near Miami."
"Dead?"
"I'd say," she said shaking her head in disgust.
"Who killed him?"
"They're still looking for the killer."
"That's horrible.  Did they question you?"
"Sure.  But they didn't suspect me."
"Who did they suspect?"
"My Father," she said watching Stanley's ashen face as he quickly dropped his cigar in the ashtray and slumped back into his plush leather office chair.
