Once you pass Astor Place you are entering the East Village.
Top right picture you see a distant shot of Astor Place. To the far left is Cooper Union, the city's first free educational institute, which opened in 1859.
Center right picture is also Astor Place. In the center of the photo you see the revolving cube sculpture. This is a popular hang out for young groupies.
Bottom right picture you see Doc Holliday's. This is Avenue A, which is known as Alphabet City. This area is really popular with the young crowd and the streets are lined with bars and restaurants.
