Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday January 18th 2002 Jan got out of the cab on Bleecker Street and handed the driver a five-dollar bill. She quickly walked towards the apartment building where Skeeter lived over the Red Lion and hit the buzzer for the door. "Who's that?" Nicole asked as Skeeter tugged on her short leather skirt. "I don't care Baby," Skeeter said breathlessly as he yanked at the bottom of the skirt. "There's someone at the door Skeeter," Nicole said wondering if her boyfriend Vinny might have followed her to Skeeter's apartment. "Damn, I've waited all afternoon," Skeeter said angry that she had been two hours late getting to his apartment. "I'm sorry," Nicole said sitting up on the futon and pulling her skirt back up to her waist. "I'll get rid of whoever it is," Skeeter said zipping his jeans and walking towards the buzzer as it sounded repeatedly. "Yeah," he said into the speaker. "It's me," Jan said from the sidewalk below. Skeeter turned to look at Nicole nervously watching the young girl stand to zip her skirt raising her eyebrow at the sound of Jan's voice. "I'm working on my sales projections," Skeeter said annoyed. He had talked to her on the phone a few minutes ago and had agreed to come to her house for dinner later in the evening. "I just stopped by," Jan said suspiciously. She had been at Clark's townhouse when Nicole had left with her boyfriend Vinny. When she had left Clark's townhouse to go to her Father's office she had seen Nicole come out of the Washington Square Hotel and get into a cab headed in the direction of Bleecker Street. "I'm coming over to your house for dinner tonight," Skeeter said watching Nicole put on her shoes angrily shaking her head. "Skeeter I have to talk to you," Jan said hitting the buzzer again. "Let her come in," Nicole said. "What?" Skeeter asked putting his hand over the receiver of the intercom hoping Jan wouldn't hear Nicole's voice. "Who's there with you?" Jan asked. "Let her come up." "But Nicole," Skeeter said annoyed that he hadn't finished what he had looked forward to all morning. "It's crazy. We may as well get this out in the open," Nicole said. "I don't think so," Skeeter said noticing that the buzzer had stopped sounding and he heard the sound of Jan's feet coming up the stairway. "She's caught us together once before in this apartment. She's not supposed to be seeing you either. What can she do?" Nicole said tired from the events of the day. The sound of Jan banging on the door made Skeeter jump slightly. "You sure?" he asked hesitantly watching Nicole pick up her sweater and quickly pull it over her head. "Ready," she said nodding her head towards the loud sound of Jan's fist on the door. "Skeeter…" Jan said banging on the door with her fist again. "Okay, Okay Jan," he said walking towards the door and putting his hand on the doorknob before turning to look at Nicole.
