Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday January 7th 2002 Vinny glanced up at Starlene as she walked from the ladies room towards the dining room table at the restaurant in Little Italy. He watched her long legs in the short pink skirt and high heels. His eyes quickly traveled upward to her voluptuous bosom in the low cut white sweater. "Did they take our order?" she asked in her southern accent as he stood up to pull out her chair for her. "Yeah, all done," he said watching her skirt rise up on her thighs as she took her seat beside him. He wondered when she would be posing for Playbody Magazine as she had mentioned to him on the phone when she called him in Florida. "So tell me a little about yourself," she said taking a sip of her wine. "Not much to tell. I'm a New Yorker that moved down to Florida hoping to open some casinos, stuff like that," he said. "Wow. I've never been to a casino." "Get outta here." "No really I haven't." "I'll take you one day." "Well, I don't know." "What about you Starlene, where do you work?" "I'm not working right now." "Oh. A woman of means," he said noticing her expensive clothes. "Well, I live with my sister so I don't have to pay rent." "Oh, that's nice. So the two of you moved here from Georgia?" "She moved here first then I came up." "And you said you are going to model for Playbody?" he asked unable to keep his eyes off her bosom. "Well, I'm hopeful. I thought it was certain but then they offered the next opening to somebody else," she said. "She must have been something else to beat you out," he said wondering if all of her was the real thing. "You would know," she said referring to his girlfriend Nicole that had been making passes at her older wealthy lover Stanley. "What ya mean?" "They offered it to Nicole." "Nicki?" he said frowning. "Yeah. I thought she would have told you," she said satisfied with the look of shock on his face. "No. I haven't talked to her in about a week." "Yeah she took the job." "She hasn't posed for them or anything, has she?" "I don't know, maybe. Don't you talk to her?" Starlene asked wondering if she should tell him about the proofs that she found in Stanley's desk. She quickly decided to save that revelation for later, she didn't want Vinny to kill her older lover, not yet. "She told me she needed some time off to think about our 'relationship'," he said picking up his glass of Scotch and downing the drink. "Oh. I see. So the two of you aren't seeing each other anymore?" "Well, I don't know," he hesitated not wanting to hurt his chances of possibly scoring with Starlene. "I thought that was probably the case. You can just tell when a woman's looking around," Starlene said knowingly. "What do you mean?" "I mean Nicole's looking. You know… at men," Starlene said sipping her wine thoughtfully as she watched his reaction. "What men?" "She's working for Amir Hada and she's said he's a 'real hunk'." "That rich foreign dude?" he asked frowning remembering seeing his picture on the news several times. "Yeah, that's one of the men." "Who else?" "She also works for my boyfriend too," Starlene said carefully approaching the subject. "You got a boyfriend?" he asked trying to hide his disappointment. "Yeah. I hope I didn't mislead you. I just thought you needed a friend. I thought you might want to know what Nicole's doing, I mean if you still love her." "I wanta know," he said motioning for the waiter to refill his drink. "I think she's after another man too." "Who's that?" CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
