It seems in the worst of times brings out the best in people. New Yorkers came together in our grief. During the months after 9/11, memorials were everywhere. As you walked along the streets downtown you saw thousands of pictures of the victims posted on stores, windows, telephone booths and everywhere.
Top right picture you see a woman dressed as the Statue of Liberty. She worked for days at the memorials raising money for the rescue workers.
Center right picture you see a picture that was taken of a fire house downtown months after the attack. Through it all, people suddenly saw the heroes that have been among us all along.
