The Producers Opened April 19th 2001

Tue-Fri 8 PM; Sat 2 PM; Sun 2 & 7:30 PM;  Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane star in this musical comedy which was a film originally written and produced by Mel Brooks in 1968 (starring Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel). Director and Choreographer: Susan Stroman. Music and Lyrics by Mel Brooks. A downtrodden theatrical producer and his accountant scheme to raise extra cash for a Broadway flop and plan to split the difference.
"The Producers" was the winner of 12 TONY Awards in 2001; Most ever since "Hello, Dolly!" (which won 10 TONY Awards in 1964).  Most ever TONY Award nominations, 15, since "Company" in 1971. The grad attempts to find the truth behind a lost mysterious mathematical proof. Directed by Daniel Sullivan. Lighting Pat Collins, Settings John Lee Beatty, Jess Goldstein does the costumes, and the sound by John Gromada. Also starring Patrick Tovatt, Josh Hamilton and Seana Kofoed.
2001 TONY Award for Best Play. Daniel Sullivan won 2001 for TONY Best Direction of a play. Mary-Louise Parker won 2001 TONY for Best leading actress of a play.

The Rocky Horror Show Opened Nov 15th 2000-Closed January 5th 2002
Circle in the Square Theatre, 1633 Broadway at 50th Street. (212-239-6200), $30-$85. Tue-Fri 8 PM, Sat 5 PM and 9:45 PM, Sun 2 and 7 PM.  This rock opera originally opened March 10th 1975 at the Belasco Theatre more than 25 years ago on Broadway.  This macabre production with an extremely detailed set design involves the desires of transvestites and is a revamp of the movie "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" which established a massive cult following.  Featuring "Let's do the Time Warp Again" this musical is directed by Christopher Ashley.  Designed by David Rockwell, a first time Broadway Show design,  who is known for designing restaurants such as Vong, Tatou and Planet Hollywood.  The famous cast includes Dick Cavett, Joan Jett, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Lea De Laria, Jarrod Emick, Raul Esparza, Alice Ripley and Tom Hewitt as "Frank 'N' Furter". Music and Lyrics by Richard O'Brien, Choreographer Jerry Mitchell, Costumes David C.
