Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday December 25th 2001 "This tree is most beautiful tree I ever see," Amir said in his broken English putting his arm around Tiffany as they sat in the living room of his Upper East Side Mansion. "I'm so glad you like it Amir. I'm especially glad you're home to have Christmas with me," Tiffany said having worried he would go home to his island to be with his comatose wife over the holidays. "This I am happy for too." "Did you think of going to your island for Christmas?" "Malena, never know if I go there or not, so I stay," he said referring to his wife. "I'm sorry Amir. I hope you aren't going to be worried about that all day," she said wondering how much of his time today would be spent thinking of bygone days with his wife. "No. I think only of you today," he said pushing her long blonde hair from her face and kissing her neck. "If you start that, we might not get to open our presents," she said feeling warm and weak all over at his touch. Amir's housekeeper, Maria walked slowly towards the door to the living room carefully carrying the silver tray with her bosses morning coffee and newspaper. She wondered if he would have breakfast in the living room and read the paper as usual. She pushed the swinging door gently with her shoulder and peered into the living room stopping when she saw Tiffany on the sofa beside her employer. "You are my present," Amir said pulling Tiffany closer to him. "Is this what you want for Christmas?" she said feeling his hand under the back of her sweater. "I want this everyday," he said aroused by the softness of her skin under the cashmere sweater. "But today is Christmas. Don't you want to open your present first?" "What you want first?" he asked. "Why don't we open our presents first," she said anxious to see what he had bought her this year. "Then we get back to this?" he asked smiling. "Yes." "Here, you go first," she said reaching for a small box on the coffee table. She handed him the box and sat back on the sofa to watch him. Amir carefully untied the bow and pulled the paper from the package. He opened the top on the box and pushed the tissue paper aside. "Perfect, this is perfect gift," he said taking the silver framed picture from the box and holding it at arms length to admire the photo. "You really like it?" Tiffany asked smiling. "Yes. I put this beside my bed. I kiss you every night." "I didn't like it that you have so many pictures in this house and not one of me," she said pleased with his reaction. "Thank you." "You have present too," he said picking up the other box on the coffee table and handling it to her. Maria gently sat the tray on the table beside the door. She peeped through the opening of the door to watch and see what Amir might have given his mistress. Tiffany untied the ribbon and tore the paper from the package as her heart raced in excitement. "Amir this is so beautiful!" she said staring down at the small expensive jewelry box. "You forget to read card. Most important part of gift," he said handing her the card and watching her take it from the envelope. Maria raised her weight up on her toes hoping to get a glimpse of the gift Tiffany was wearing. "Oh Amir. Do you really mean this?" Tiffany asked wiping the tears of joy from her cheeks as she read his handwritten note in her Christmas card. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
