Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday December 19th 2001 Jan knocked on Skeeter's apartment door. She pressed her ear to the door and thought she heard a woman's voice inside her secret lover's apartment. "Skeeter more…more," the woman moaned from inside the apartment. "Oh Baby. Baby," she heard Skeeter moan. Jan knocked on the door again and pressed her ear back against the door to listen. Her heart beat faster at the thought of catching him with another woman. She had long suspected that Skeeter might be a playboy but hoped that her affection was enough to keep him satisfied. She pressed her ear a little closer to the door hoping that Skeeter's neighbors wouldn't open their door and catch her listening. "Did you hear something Skeeter?" a woman's voice questioned from inside the apartment. "Not now, Baby, not now…Oh Nicole," Skeeter said as the frame of the rickety futon quickly beat into the end table. Jan's hand went to her mouth at the sound of Nicole's name. Her Father's secretary was in there. Just as she had suspected. She had gone to her Father's office on the day he interviewed the young girl and caught her on the sofa with her Father clearly allowing the older man to have his way with her. Jan pressed her ear back to the door quickly. "Skeeter…. I really think I heard someone at your door," Nicole said. "Give me a minute to catch my breath and I'll check. You're something else Baby," he said. Jan glanced around the hallway trying to quickly think how she would handle the situation. She wanted nothing more than to beat down the door and kill Skeeter. The problem with indulging that desire was that Nicole would tell her Father Stanley. Her Father didn't know that she was seeing Skeeter and she never wanted him to know or he would surely disinherit her. After all Skeeter wasn't of her social standing. She quickly pressed her ear to the door again to listen. "Why don't we go out and get something to eat?" Nicole asked. "I can't Baby. I'm supposed to meet a client. Matter of fact, I'm already late," he said glancing at the clock on the television. "You mean that's it? This was a hit and run?" she asked. "No Baby, no. It means that I have to work now. We can get together again," he said sitting up on the futon and grabbing his jeans from the floor under the coffee table. "Why don't you call the client and cancel?" "It's really a big client," he lied thinking about the fact he was already thirty minutes late going to Elizabeth's penthouse for their regular weekly rendezvous. "You sure that Tiffany isn't the reason," Nicole asked suspecting he was still in love with his estranged wife. "No. I told you before Nicki. Tiffany and I are almost divorced." "I hope you are telling me the truth Skeeter," she said watching him stand to pull on his jeans. "Of course." "Good. I don't mind competition but I do like to know where I stand with a man." "You're the greatest Baby," he said bending over and kissing her on the cheek as he admired her young firm body on his futon. "Good," she said getting up from the futon and walking towards the bathroom. Skeeter watched her long legs as she walked towards the bathroom. He took a few steps towards his front door hoping Nicole would close the bathroom door so that he could look out and see if anyone was in the hallway. "Where are the towels Skeeter?" Nicole called out as she turned on the water in the shower. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
