Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday December 18th 2001 "Just wait for me here," Jan instructed her limo driver as he opened the door for her to the long white car. "Yes Miss Morgan," the driver said watching her walk towards the front door of Skeeter's apartment building on Bleecker Street. Jan glanced up to see a dim light burning in the window of her secret lover's apartment on the fourth floor. She took off her heavy gloves and quickly pushed the button for apartment 17 and waited. "Did you hear something Skeeter," Nicole asked breathlessly in Skeeter's ear. "Don't worry about it Baby. You're the best," Skeeter said not wanting his passion interrupted before he had achieved his most precious moment. Jan quickly hit the buzzer again and stepped back to look up at the window of Skeeter's apartment. The light was so dim, she knew it wasn't the overhead light that was burning in the living room. "Skeeter I think I heard a buzzer," Nicole said. She felt unfamiliar with his apartment since this was her first visit after meeting him last night at the bar downstairs. "Don't worry about it Baby, they'll go away." He kissed her fully on the mouth as his body rhythmically pushed the frame of the squeaky futon hitting the end table nearby. "Oh Skeeter," she moaned as the futon frame hit the table harder and harder as his passion grew.
"Excuse me," a man said as he stepped up beside Jan at the intercom downstairs in front of the apartment building on Bleecker Street. Jan watched as the young college student hit the button for apartment 10 and stood back to wait for an answer. "Yes," a young woman's voice said over the buzzer. "It's me" the man answered as he placed his hand on the outside of the door waiting for her to buzz him in. The buzzer sounded and he pushed open the door standing back to allow Jan to enter. Jan casually walked into the lobby of the building in front of the young man. "Nice coat," he said as he watched Jan walk towards the stairs. "Thanks," Jan said. She carefully avoided looking him in the eye for fear he was a thief or anti fur protester. "Is that a mink?" the young man asked watching Jan climb the stairs in front of him. "No, it's fake," Jan lied picking up her step as she rushed up the stairs. She stood in front of Skeeter's door waiting for the young man to continue up the stairs. "Have a good evening," he said as he continued to climb the next flight of stairs smiling at Jan. Jan nodded her head. She was relieved when she heard the young man enter the apartment upstairs. Jan turned to face Skeeter's door and prepared to ring the buzzer when she thought she heard something inside the apartment. She glanced around the hallway to see if anyone was watching her. She gently pressed her ear to the cold metal door and listened. "More… More," she heard a woman moan. Jan pushed her ear as close to the door as she could. "Skeeter more…" the woman said from inside the apartment. "Oh Baby. Baby," she heard Skeeter moan. Jan knocked on the door and pressed her ear back against the door to listen. "Did you hear something Skeeter?" a woman's voice questioned. "Not now, Baby, not now…Oh Nicole," Skeeter said as the futon frame beat loudly into the end table. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
