Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday October 31st 2001 "Jan please…you are misleading everyone," Stanley said nervously to his daughter as the group of co-workers dined at Arqua Restaurant in Tribeca. "What did Jan mean about you using your sofa like a 'casting couch'?" Starlene asked her older lover as they sat side by side. "Nothing, just eat your lunch," Stanley said gently patting her arm with his shaking hand. "No. I want to know. Jan what did you mean?" Starlene asked frowning as she glanced towards Jan. "Nothing," Jan smiled, satisfied that her remark had already done enough damage. "Nicole, what did Jan mean by that remark?" Starlene asked bending forward across the table to look towards the new secretary seated on the other side of Stanley. "I don't know really," the dark haired young beauty said glancing towards Stanley for assurance. "Let it drop honey," Stanley whispered. "I'll talk to you about this later then," Starlene whispered as she noticed that Clark and Tiffany were nervously watching her on the other side of the table. "So Nicole, how long have you lived in the city?" Clark asked. "Only a few weeks," the young girl answered. "Where do you live?" Starlene asked in the southern accent. "I found a small apartment on Bleecker Street." "Bleecker?" Tiffany asked. "Yes, I don't know if I'll stay there long, it's rather small. I just took the first thing I saw until I have more time to look around," Nicole said taking a sip of her wine. "Tiffany's husband lives on Bleecker Street," Clark said. "Ex-husband," Jan said as she quickly noticed Tiffany's cold stare. "Oh really, where Tiffany?" Nicole asked. "He has an apartment over The Red Lion," Tiffany said. "Oh my God!" Nicole said. "You live close by?" Jan asked tapping her nails on the table. "Yes, I live in the building across the block above the Back Fence," Nicole said. "It really is a small world," Clark said. "Yes it is," Nicole said. "How long do you plan to live there?" Jan asked. "I'm looking at a couple of places now. I kind of like Trump's new World Tower over near the UN," Nicole said. "Those places go for millions," Clark said. "Yes, but they have great views," Nicole said buttering a piece of Italian bread. "Father must be paying you handsomely if you are considering moving there," Jan said suspiciously. "I have money of my own," Nicole said. "So you don't need to work?" Starlene asked. "Yes I need to work. My Father has given me working orders," Nicole said. "Why wouldn't you just stay in Florida and lay on the beach all day, that sounds like more fun to me," Starlene said. "I have to help out in the family business," Nicole said. "Does your Father know about your new job?" Clark asked. "Sure, he called Stanley. That's how I found out about the position," Nicole said. "So Stanley knows your Father?" Clark asked. "No, they've never met. Have you Stan?" she asked smiling as she turned to ask Stanley. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
