Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday October 29th 2001
"Tiffany, Clark, Jan… meet the new employee Nicole," Stanley said as the beautiful dark haired young woman walked towards their table in Arqua Restaurant.
"Hello, nice to meet you," Nicole said smiling as Stanley pulled out her chair. She took a seat at the table beside him.
"It's so nice to meet you Nicole. Congratulations on your new job," Clark said watching her unfold her napkin and put it on her lap.
"Oh, thank you. It's nice to meet everyone," she said taking a sip of her wine that the waiter had just poured.
"So Nicole…tell us something about your background," Clark asked hoping to make pleasant lunch conversation.
"I moved here from Florida a couple of months ago."
"Why would you move from Florida to this weather?" Clark asked laughing.
"I wanted some space between me and my family."
"So your family all lives in Florida?" Clark asked.
"No. I have more family in Chicago and Las Vegas."
"You're the only one in New York then?" Clark asked.
"No. My Godfather lives here," she said taking another sip of her wine.
"Godfather. What kind of family are you from, Mafia?" Jan asked looking down her nose at Nicole.
"Jan that's enough," Stanley snapped, as the young woman seemed visibly uncomfortable by Jan's remark.
"I want to learn to live on my own," Nicole said.
"Have you ever worked before?" Jan asked.
"No, but I'm really excited about this new job."
"Great," Jan said under her breath disgusted with the lack of experience.
"Do you like politics?" Clark asked.
"I don't know much about them," Nicole said.
"She doesn't need to know anything about politics to work with me and Amir," Stanley said.
"She doesn't need to know too much about anything," Jan said glancing at the young woman's revealing tight sweater.
"Jan's right," Stanley said trying to cover up his daughters remarks. "I'll teach Nicki everything," Stanley said smiling.
"Have you ever met Amir," Clark asked.
"No," Nicole answered taking another sip of her wine.
"I think Amir will enjoy working with Nicki," Stanley said.
"I'm sure Amir will," Jan said smiling at Tiffany and watching for a reaction.
"I'm looking forward to meeting him. When will he be back from his visit with his wife?" Nicole asked.
"Soon, right Tiffany," Jan asked.
"I wouldn't know," Tiffany lied.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" Jan asked glancing towards Nicole.
"I did but we're broken up now," she answered.
"Where is he?" Jan asked.
"Florida."
"What kind of work does he do there?"
"He owns buildings."
"What about your family? What kind of work does your Father do?" Jan asked.
"They own buildings and casinos."
"Why do you want to work with us?" Jan asked.
"Because Stanley's so nice and I've heard so much about Amir from your Father," Nicole said.
"Yes Father is very nice. He even invited his girlfriend to join us too," Jan said smiling as she watched Starlene walk into the entrance lobby in a tight black leather skirt and low cut sweater.
