Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday October 24th 2001 Tiffany opened the last envelope from the morning mail. The phone rang and she put the invoice aside. "Manhattan Party Planning," she answered. "I miss you," Amir said feeling warm all over at the sound of his lover's voice. "Amir! I'm so glad to hear from you. When are you coming home?" Tiffany asked. "I stay longer than I plan," he said in his broken English. "How's your wife?" Tiffany asked referring to his comatose wife. "She still sleep in coma." "Do the doctors think she will recover?" "So many years pass. Only this one time she wakes. Doctors say no way to know answer," he said with pain in his voice. "Are you going to stay until she comes back out of her coma?" "No. I come back if no change soon," he said as his assistant walked into his office handing him an urgent message. "I guess you'll have a new assistant when you get home." "Assistant?" "Yes. Stanley's been interviewing someone to do the work on the community centers, libraries and day care centers you're opening." "This he never tell me," Amir said glancing down at the message his assistant had brought him and noticing he had only a few minutes to return an urgent call. "I thought maybe you had told Stanley to hire a secretary for you and Jan while you were gone," Tiffany said. "No. This good idea. I plan to move quick on plans." "So it's okay with you?" "Yes. My love I go now. I have urgent call to make. We talk soon," he said. "Okay…. I miss you Amir." "I love you," he said hanging up the phone. Tiffany hung up the phone feeling better that her lover didn't know about this new hire rather than keeping this a secret from her. She picked up the invoice she had put aside before Amir's call. The front door to the townhouse opened and she looked up. "Mornin' Tiffany," Stanley said. "Good morning Stanley," she said watching the well-dressed older man walk into the entrance hall and close the door behind him. "Is Clark here?" "Yeah, he's upstairs in his office on the phone." "Okay, then I'll wait down here until he's finished with his call." "How are you doing Tiffany?" "Good." "Tell your sister I'll call her tomorrow," Stanley said taking a seat on the sofa. "Okay." "I know she's annoyed with me right now, but I've been extremely busy." "I'll tell her," Tiffany said remembering how upset her younger sister Starlene had been when her older lover had refused to take her phone calls and canceled their usual time together the other night. "Stanley, good to see you," Clark said as he rushed down the stairs towards the living room. "I hope you haven't made lunch plans today," Stanley said. "No. Why?" "I've hired a new girl, I thought it would be nice if we all went to lunch with her," Stanley said. "Well…sure," Clark said. "Good. Tiffany I hope you can come too," Stanley asked glancing towards Tiffany. "She can," Clark answered. "Good, I'll call Jan and see if she can come too," Stanley said walking towards Tiffany's desk to use her phone. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
