Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday October 23rd 2001 "Come in," Jan said opening the door for Skeeter to her Upper East Side townhouse. "Hay Baby, how you doin'?" Skeeter asked in his slow southern accent as he walked into her living room as she closed the door. "Horrible," she said walking into the living room and taking a seat on the sofa. "You don't look like you're doing all that bad," he said. He took a seat beside her on the sofa as he noticed the sheer silk negligee she was wearing. "It's been a hard day," she said pouring Brandy into a glass and handing it to him. He took the glass and watched her as she filled her glass and took a sip. "What's the matter?" "Father took over my job of interviewing the new candidates to assist me in the work Amir has to do." "What work?" "Building the new libraries, day care and community centers… all that insanity he promised when he left the race for mayor". "So what's so bad about that?" he said putting his glass on the coffee table and placing his arm on the back of the sofa. "It was my responsibility." "Did Amir ask you to hire somebody while he was gone?" "No, Amir doesn't know anything about this. He thinks I'm going to do all of this while he's over there on his island with his wife." "Well whose idea was it to hire someone?" "Father's. He thinks it will look good in the press if we take a more active role while Amir's out of the country." "You mean make it look like you guys are doing all the work." "That's not it at all," she snapped. "Sounds like it." "Forget it! You don't understand any of this," she said pouring another drink. "Come on Baby, what's the matter," he said running his hand over her thigh. "Not now Skeeter. I've got too much on my mind," she said putting her hand on top of his. "Well, just tell me what's wrong Baby," he asked. "I went to Father's office and he was on the sofa with this young girl." "Really?" Skeeter asked as he quit rubbing her thigh and watched her intently. "Yeah. He was supposed to be interviewing her. I stopped by unexpectedly because I was afraid he would hire someone without my consent." "Were they doin' it?" Skeeter asked envious of the older man. "No, but he was all over her." "How? Did she have her clothes on?" "Yes, Skeeter but Father was obviously making a pass at this bimbo." "What did he do when you walked in?" "He apologized to this bimbo and took me into the next office where we had a huge fight." "Wow," Skeeter said. "You act like this is a victory for my Father or something," she said angrily as she watched Skeeter smile in satisfaction. "No… no Baby. I think that was wrong of your old man. He's got Starlene and he shouldn't be doing that," Skeeter said thinking this was what she needed to hear. "The only thing that makes me happy is that it might break up the relationship with Starlene. But again it might get worse if I have to work with this new bimbo," Jan said taking a sip of her brandy. "Was she good looking?" Skeeter asked watching as Jan sat her glass back on the table and leaned back on the sofa. "Like the rest of them, Playbody kind of girl…no brains," Jan said. "Come here Baby you've had a hard day," Skeeter said, his fingers caressing the soft skin of her thigh as he imagined Stanley's good fortune. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
