Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday October 11^th 2001
"We just heard shocking news from the mayoral candidate Amir Hada that he has decided to leave the race for mayor.  We have with us the political analyst Andrew Coleman.  Mr. Coleman what are Amir's chances for future political involvement in New York City?  And do you think this had anything to do with his relationship with Tiffany Diamond?" the TV reporter asked as he held a microphone to the analyst as they stood before a crowd on the steps at City Hall.
"I don't see how this can do anything but help Mr. Hada," Andrew said smiling broadly.
"Help him?  Mr. Hada has left the race," the TV reporter said.
"Yes, but you have to look at the long term effects such a move will have on Mr. Hada's political future in New York.  Mr. Hada has left the race while he is ahead in the polls.  You have to look at the fact that he only recently became an American citizen and he's extremely popular.  He has also left fulfilling his campaign promises for day care centers, community centers and new libraries for the city of New York.  He has gone even further in his statement today promising to give money to help in the reconstruction of downtown after the tragedy. He is fulfilling his campaign promises and more out of his own pocket, not the taxpayers. If he had continued the race he would have been using taxpayer's money.  He's gone beyond what any candidate has ever done in history."
"So you think if he decides to get involved in New York politics at a later date he hasn't hurt his chances?" 
"No, absolutely not.  If anything he's increased his chances of winning any office he decides to run for in the future.  I think we'll see more of Amir Hada and I think there's a good chance he might run for a higher office."
"You mean Congress or the Senate?"
"I mean any office he wants."
"You mean the White House?"
"I wouldn't be surprised."
"We'll be right back after this break with more coverage of the Amir Hada news conference at City Hall," the announcer said as a commercial for a Broadway show came on the television screen.
"Wow! Can you believe this Tiffany?" Starlene said jumping up from the sofa and standing in front of her stunned sister.
"No.  I can't believe this," Tiffany said shaking her head.
"He might run for President one day," Starlene said putting her hand on her hip in the long Barbie Doll T-shirt she was wearing.
"Yeah…."
"What's the matter? Aren't you excited?" Starlene asked as she watched Tiffany's smile disappear.
"You heard what Amir said Starlene.  He's going to be spending more time on his island to be with his wife."
"Oh that doesn't mean he'll be gone much Tiffany.  He'll probably fly over there for the weekend and be back with you all week," Starlene said.
"I don't know.  He never told me he was going to drop out of the race.  If it hadn't been for that picture of us together on the front of the newspaper today this might not have happened," she said referring to the photo a detective had taken of the two of them leaving his mansion together after a romantic evening.
"He loves you Tiffany.  He has to act like he loves his wife so he'll win."
"Yeah.  But I bet he does love his wife."
"She's a vegetable Tiffany.  What's the poor guy going to do?"
"I don't know Starlene. This makes me so nervous though,"
"Shhh…it's coming back on," Starlene said hitting the volume up on the remote as the announcer stood on the steps of City Hall.
"We're here now with the another political advisor, Thomas Jordan.  Mr. Jordan what do you think of Amir's move to leave the race for mayor?"
"It's what Amir didn't say that we have to watch.  Amir's been caught red handed with this secretary Tiffany Diamond.  He dropped out because he knew he would soon lose votes over this affair when more of the details come out."
"Then you think he left the race for this other woman Tiffany Diamond?" the announcer asked.
