Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday October 8th 2001 "Do you think it's time we get a divorce?" Skeeter asked as he glanced down at the newspaper on Tiffany's desk with the picture of herself and her lover, the mayoral candidate Amir. The picture showed the two lovers arm and arm as they left his Upper East Side mansion yesterday morning. "Yes," she said. "I just bet you do. Then you think you're going to marry that rich foreigner don't you?" he asked angrily walking behind her desk chair and pressing his fingers into her shoulders. "No. Stop… that hurts," she said flinching under his muscular grip. "You're lying to me again Tiffany," he said grasping her shoulders more firmly as the front door of the townhouse opened and his secret lover Jan walked in. "Well, what is this? A party?" Jan said slamming the front door and walking towards Tiffany's desk. "Just stopped by to talk to Tiffany," Skeeter said hoping he didn't sound defensive as he released Tiffany's shoulders and walked towards the front of her desk. "I see," Jan said glancing at Tiffany as she took her place beside Skeeter in front of Tiffany's desk. "Clark isn't here right now Jan," Tiffany said trying to sound professional. "Of course, I can see that for myself." "Is there something I can help you with?" Tiffany asked. "I seriously doubt that." "Was Clark expecting you?" Tiffany asked trying to avoid a confrontation with her. "No. I guess you wouldn't know though. Your appointment book is on the floor," Jan said glancing down in front of Tiffany's desk where Skeeter had angrily thrown her book. "Here Tiffany," Skeeter said picking up the book and tossing it onto her desk. "I have work to get done. Skeeter could we finish our conversation later?" Tiffany asked. "Yeah," Skeeter said turning and walking away from her desk. "Oh. Did I interrupt a personal conversation?" Jan asked walking towards Skeeter. "I just stopped by to talk to Tiffany since I never see her." "No. I don't think anyone has seen much of Tiffany lately, only the photographers. Maybe it's because she's been busy," Jan said noticing the newspaper on Tiffany's desk. "Skeeter we can finish the conversation later," Tiffany said. "A marital argument?" Jan asked smiling suspiciously at Skeeter. "No. Tiffany and I were talking about our divorce," he said starting to walk towards the front door. "I see, is that your idea or hers?" Jan asked looking down her nose at Tiffany as she stood in front of her desk. "Mine," Skeeter said. "I'll see you later Skeeter," Tiffany said watching him walk towards the front door. "Skeeter…" Jan said watching his prideful swagger. "Yeah," he stopped and turned to look at the two women. "Are you leaving now?" Jan asked walking towards him and stopping to stand close to him. "Yeah." "Where are you going?" "I'm going to work." "I'm going in the same direction. My car and driver are waiting out front would you like a ride across town?" Jan asked smiling. "I don't know…." Skeeter hesitated glancing towards Tiffany. "There aren't any newspaper photographers waiting for me. Unless of course, Tiffany minds?" she said glancing towards Tiffany's angry stare.
