Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday October 5th 2001 Tiffany watched as her boss Clark stood in the doorway of his townhouse. "Skeeter it's a surprise to see you here," Clark said glancing nervously from Skeeter towards Tiffany as he prepared to leave for an appointment. "Just stopped by," Skeeter said. "Don't let me hold you up for your meeting." "Yeah. Okay…. Tiffany… I'll call later," Clark said nervously waving goodbye and walking out of the door. Skeeter stood in the entrance hall watching as Clark pulled the door closed. He watched through the window as Clark walked over the cobblestone driveway of Washington Mews towards MacDougal Street to get a cab. "So we're alone Baby," Skeeter said in his slow southern accent turning his attention to his estranged wife as she sat at her desk. "What are you doing here Skeeter?" she asked watching his swagger as he walked towards her desk carrying a newspaper in his hand. She saw the folded newspaper with the picture of herself and her lover, the mayoral candidate Amir, on the front page. "What's this?" he said slapping the tabloid newspaper on her desk. "So you've seen it," she said picking up the newspaper and putting it to the side of her desk. "You and your boyfriend are big celebrities these days," he said starting to pace in front of her desk. "What's the point Skeeter?" "The point is that you lied to me." "Sorry," she said looking down pretending to be reading her appointment book that was open on her desk. Skeeter stopped in front of her desk and picked up the appointment book and tossed it on the floor. "Pay attention to me when I'm talking to you," he said. "What's the matter with you Skeeter?" she asked trying to control the fear in her voice. "You're making a fool of me Tiffany." "Skeeter I don't see how I could be making a fool of you. I haven't seen you in months. We haven't been living together for over a year now." "You know you're making a fool of me." "No. I think I've made a fool of myself though." "Right? You think I believe you for one minute that you didn't plan this whole thing," he said pointing to the newspaper on her desk with the picture of Amir and her, arm and arm, as they left his Upper East Side mansion yesterday morning. "I hate all of this." "I guess this one is better than the last picture with your dress almost off," he said referring to the last picture that the newspaper had published. A detective had taken a picture of Amir and her kissing on his veranda. The buttons on her dress were undone and the straps had fallen off revealing her bare bosom. The newspaper had but a blurry spot over her bare chest but the websites had eagerly published the picture. "I've never been so humiliated in my life," she said honestly. "Think how I feel." "I guess I just fail to see how this has anything at all to do with you Skeeter." "You're my wife Tiffany." "I was your wife Skeeter." "Still are." "Only on paper." "Do you think it's time we get a divorce?" he asked. "Yes." "I just bet you do. Then you think you're going to marry Mr. Millionaire, don't you?" he asked angrily walking behind her chair and pressing his fingers into her shoulders. "No. Stop that hurts," she said flinching under his muscular grip. "You're lying to me again Tiffany," he said grasping her shoulders more firmly as the front door of the townhouse opened and Jan walked in. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
