Tiffany sat at her desk going over invitations to the upcoming children's birthday party that her boss Clark was arranging when she heard the front door of the townhouse open and close.
"Mornin' Clark," she said smiling brightly.
"Mornin' Tiffany," he said walking in and closing the door behind him.  He started up the steps towards his office with his briefcase in his hand and stopped to glance back into the living room where she sat at her desk.
"Has the mail come yet?"
"No."
"Let me know. I'm expecting a check from the London Link," he said referring to a media party he had hosted.
"Sure," she said never looking up from the invitations until the phone rang on her desk and she glanced up and watched Clark ascending the stairway to his office.
"Manhattan Party Planning," she answered.
"Tiffany," she heard her sister Starlene say on the other end of the phone.
"Hi Starlene."
"I hope you had a good time last night with Amir." Starlene said in her thick southern accent.
"Yeah."
"Have you seen the newspaper today?"
"No…why?" Tiffany asked her voice full of dread.
"I'll read you the headlines," Starlene said unfolding the newspaper and holding it up in front of her as she sat on the barstool in their apartment overlooking Washington Square Park.
"Oh God, what is it now." Tiffany moaned.
"It is reported that Amir Hada's Mother-in-law took her daughter Malena Hada back to their island home after Malena lapsed back into a coma.  Mr. Hada brought his wife Malena to New York to recover from a long coma.  Malena Hada regained consciousness for a short time but never regained memory of her marriage to the mayoral candidate Amir. After awakening from her coma for only a few days it was reported by reliable sources that Mr. Hada's wife saw the picture of her husband Amir kissing the secretary Ms. Tiffany Diamond on Mr. Hada's veranda.  Malena Hada was so upset that she lapsed back into a coma.  Mr. Hada's Mother-in-law is said to have been very angry with Amir over his handling of her daughter's recovery and his illicit relationship with Ms. Diamond.  Mr. Hada's wife Malena is said to now be back home on their island in the hospital.  Reliable sources say that Mr. Hada has wasted no time in re-establishing his contact with Miss Diamond.  The two lovers were spotted together at his Upper East Side mansion last night.  So far Mr. Hada's publicist has declined comment as to whether Mr. Hada plans to continue his campaign for mayor.  It is doubtful that any candidate could withstand such negative publicity; however, polls have shown Mr. Hada has only lost a small percentage of his support since his affair with Ms. Diamond was disclosed earlier. Mr. Hada's political consultant publicly stated that 'other politicians have had similar incidents while in office and this hasn't interfered with their ability to perform the duties of Mayor of the City of New York.'  Mr. Hada couldn't be reached for comment."
"Oh my God," Tiffany said.
"They mentioned your name four times Tiffany!" Starlene said proud of her sister's celebrity status.
"I don't understand how anyone could have known that I was with Amir last night," Tiffany said.
"They've got a picture too," Starlene said.
