Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday September 26th 2001 "You feel all better now Baby?" Skeeter asked Jan as he got up from the futon sofa in his living room on Bleecker Street and picked up his jeans from the chair nearby. He was in a hurry to leave his apartment to go to Elizabeth's tonight, but Jan had stopped by and started to undress while he was in the kitchen getting himself a beer. "Yeah, you want to have dinner tonight?" Jan asked sitting up on the futon and reaching for her wine glass on the coffee table. "I thought you had your ladies club meeting tonight?" he asked glancing at the clock on top of his television. He was already running late for his regular weekly rendezvous at Elizabeth Ford's penthouse. "I'm starving. Why don't we go out to dinner?" Jan asked reaching for her clothes that she had thrown on the arm of the futon earlier. "I thought you said you had dinner with your old man?", he asked. She stopped by unexpectedly after going to a restaurant earlier this evening with her Father. "Yeah, I wasn't hungry then," she said. She had completely lost her appetite after her Father told her that he had been out to breakfast with Skeeter and his ex-sister-in-law Starlene. Her Father had also told her that Skeeter had come by Starlene's to see his estranged wife Tiffany. The thing that had really upset her was that her Father had told her that Elizabeth Ford, his ex-lover and wealthy socialite had said that Skeeter was coming by her penthouse for regular weekly 'workouts'. "You don't want to miss your meeting do you?" he asked. "It's not that important. I'd rather spend the night with you," she said determined to tie up his evening and keep him from Elizabeth. "You could go to the meeting and then we could have dinner." "I have an idea why don't we just get a delivery and have dinner in bed," she said smiling as she picked up her skirt from the arm of the futon.. "I've never seen you so eager Jan." "I want to be sure you're happy." "Just take a shower and we'll decide," he said. "Okay," she said tossing her clothes back on the arm of the futon and walking towards the bathroom. "Are you really that hungry?" he asked watching her walk down the hallway. "Starving," she said turning on the water and stepping into the shower. He quickly picked up his cell phone from the coffee table and dialed the familiar number to Elizabeth's penthouse on Fifth Avenue. "Hello," Elizabeth answered. "Hi Liz," Skeeter said quietly. "I'm ready for you darling," she said running her hand over her silk negligee. "I'm running late. I had to work," he said as he heard Jan starting to sing a an old Beatles tune loudly in the shower…" 'All you need is love…'" "How late darling? You can't keep me waiting," Elizabeth said as she glanced towards the flicker of the candles on her coffee table. "Really late. I think I might get a big order that I really need. This guy says he might be interested in ordering lingerie for a chain of stores throughout the country," Skeeter lied walking as far away from the bathroom as he could to get distance between Jan's singing and the phone. "But darling if I buy you a lingerie store you don't need this man," she said thinking about how much she was looking forward to their weekly session. "You want me to be able to repay you one day if you do buy me the store don't you?" he asked nervously as he heard Jan turn off the water and sing…"Love, Love, Love." "Darling there are more ways than one to barter. I have plenty of money." "I don't think I can get out of this meeting in time," Skeeter said glancing towards the front door wondering if he should walk out into the hall with the phone. "What is that horrible noise?" Elizabeth asked. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
