Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday September 20th 2001 "What do you mean? Who is Skeeter seeing Father?" Jan asked trying to hide her shock that her Father had been to breakfast with her secret lover Skeeter. Skeeter had been at Starlene's apartment this morning when her Father stopped by to see his young lover. "He wouldn't tell me for sure who it is but I know what's he's up to," Stanley said taking another bite of his pasta as they dined in the small restaurant in Little Italy. "What? Do tell me Father," Jan said picking up her fork and pretending to be eating her dinner. "When I first stopped by and Starlene wasn't dressed I was worried a little." "What do you mean she wasn't dressed. What did she have on?" "Just a T-shirt with nothing on under it." "Really?" Jan said trying to hide her jealousy. "Yeah, that bothered me because Starlene is so well endowed I was afraid that being an estranged Brother in law wasn't distant enough," Stanley said remembering the sight of Starlene in the skimpy sheer T-shirt. "Do you think he and Starlene...?" "Like I said. No. I know that's not the case. Besides he was there to see Tiffany not Starlene." "How do you know that?" "He told me he came by to see Tiffany. He brought the newspaper with him. He's jealous of Amir and Tiffany." "Really?" "I can understand that. He's still married to Tiffany and her picture is on the front page of the newspaper with Amir. Amir's the candidate for mayor and he's a rich and powerful man." "So he stopped by to see Tiffany and that's who you think the rich woman is that he's seeing?" she asked laughing as she referred back to her Father's earlier statement that he knew Skeeter's was seeing a wealthy woman. "No not Tiffany. That poor girl does nothing but worry about her job." "Then who are you talking about Father?" Jan asked shaking her head. "Elizabeth Ford," he said referring to his very wealthy ex lover. "What?" Jan snapped a little too loudly as her fist hit the table. She quickly glanced around the restaurant noticing that diners at the other tables had stopped eating and were looking at her. "What are you talking about Father?" she asked in a hushed voice. "Seems I've found a subject that you're interested in," Stanley said watching his daughter's face closely. "I'm just curious." "Elizabeth told me that Skeeter's been around a few times." "What do you mean around?" "He's been taking care of her," Stanley said clearing his throat and raising his eyebrows. "I don't believe it. Doesn't that make you mad? You and Elizabeth were lovers. Doesn't that make you angry that she would say that?" she asked noticing that her hands were shaking too much to pick up her fork. "Of course I don't care. Elizabeth and I are just friends now. I don't care what she does although I suspect she wants me to care or she wouldn't have told me that Skeeter was warming her bed." "She put it that way?" "That's not exactly the way she put it but there's no question about it. She said there wasn't anything to it, just physical from her stand point but that she thought Skeeter wanted her to invest in his future." "Father you aren't serious?" "I'm serious alright. She's considering buying him a lingerie store. They have regular weekly 'workouts,'" Stanley said laughing and taking a sip of his wine. "Workouts?" "That's what she called them. I used to tease her about not going to the gym or working out. So she told me that he's her regular 'work out' partner and they were going to have a session tonight," Stanley said taking the last sip of his wine. "I think I'll order another bottle," he said raising his hand towards the waiter. "No Father. I have to leave." "I thought you said you were starving you haven't touched your food," he said watching her throw her napkin on the table and get up hurriedly to leave. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
