Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday August 24th 2001
"Clark!  We weren't expecting you so early," Stanley said leaving Tiffany's side and walking over to extend his hand to her boss.
"I finished with my appointment early.  Could I get you and Tiffany something to drink?" Clark asked embarrassed that he had just walked into the townhouse and caught the older man kissing his secretary.
"No.  I was just trying to comfort Tiffany a little," Stanley said taking a seat on the sofa.
Clark sat down beside him on the sofa and glanced towards Tiffany as she touched the corners of her mouth with her fingers.
"This has been a rather hard time for Tiffany I guess," Clark said trying to seem understanding. Tiffany's picture had recently appeared on the front page of the newspaper kissing the married mayoral candidate Amir.  To make matters even worse her sundress was opened in the front revealing her bare bosom, covered only by a digitally imposed blurry spot.
"Yeah. I was just telling her these things happen between men and women.  It isn't a big deal," Stanley said.
"Of course not," Clark said glancing towards Tiffany as she looked down at the floor.
"So Tiffany tells me you have a press party tonight for the London Link Television Network," Stanley said.
"Yeah.  Can you believe this?  They've signed a contract for me to do all of their parties here in New York.  They say that people in London just can't get enough of the gossip about New York," Clark said smiling broadly as he glanced towards Tiffany. He had warned her when he hired her not to become involved with the clients.  He felt it was only fair to use his secretary's recent media scandal to get free publicity for his sagging party planning business.
"Is that right?" Stanley asked.
"Yes.  You know I need the business since you and Jan took a lot of your parties to the other company."
"Oh that was temporary I assure you," Stanley said.
"Great!  I'm so happy to hear that."
"Who is coming to the party tonight?"
"A couple of the gossip columnists from here in New York.  It's a party so that the London reporters can rub elbows with the New York media."
"That sounds like a good party to me." Stanley said.
"Yes.  I'm looking forward to it."
"I'd like to come if you don't mind."
"Sure!  That would be great! Thanks Stanley," Clark said knowing this would double his chances of a lot of media exposure.
"Okay.  I'll be bringing Starlene with me," Stanley said getting up from the sofa and starting towards the front door.
"Sure!  Yeah.  That's great.  I'm looking forward to it," Clark said following the older man to the door and watching him walk out. "Thanks for stopping by Stanley," Clark called out as the older man walked over the cobblestones towards his waiting limo.
"It was my pleasure," Stanley said waving.
"See you tonight!" Clark said closing the door and walking back into the living room.
Tiffany was seated at her desk and he watched as she turned on her computer in silence.
"Nice of Stanley to stop by," he said walking towards her desk awkwardly.
"Yeah."
"I see you and Stanley really get along well," he said referring to the kiss he'd seen between Tiffany and Stanley when he opened the door.
"My sister is in love with Stanley."
"It's none of my business Tiffany," Clark said walking to the television and turning it on for diversion from the tension.
"We're here at Sutton Place at Mr. Amir Hada's mansion where a few evenings ago a detective took a picture of Mr. Hada with a secretary named Tiffany Diamond in a rather compromising position.  Mr. Hada, we understand your wife only recently awoke from her coma. Can you tell us more about your relationship with Tiffany Diamond?", the reporter asked as the camera zoomed in on Amir's handsome face.
