It's a short trip from NYC on the subway and a bus to Wave Hill. Wave Hill was built as a country home in 1843 by William Lewis Morris. Later this beautiful real estate was rented to Theodore Roosevelt's family and at one time Mark Twain leased this gorgeous real estate and mansion.
Top left you see the house or mansion that overlooks the Hudson River.
Top right you see a beautiful pond on the lawn near the house.
Center right picture you see a seat with a view of the Palisades.
Bottom right you see an herb garden on the grounds of Wave Hill. It was in 1903 that George W. Perkins, a partner of J. P. Morgan, purchased Wave Hill. Later in 1960 the Perkins-Freeman family deeded Wave Hill to the City of New York. Wow, that's generous! Thanks to them we get to see it today!
