Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday July 23rd 2001 "We're here at New York University Hospital for an update on the condition of mayoral candidate Amir's Hada's wife," the TV reporter said as he stood outside the hospital on First Avenue. Tiffany sat breathlessly at her desk with her eyes glued to the television screen waiting for the report. "Janice have you heard anything today about the condition of mayoral candidate Mr. Hada's comatose wife?" the reporter in the studio asked. "Yes, the doctors reported to us that she is awake," the reporter said as she stood in front of NYU. "Did she speak?" the reporter in the studio asked. "We don't know. They have refused to release more information. They simply said that his wife is awake and they are hopeful." "Have you spoken to Mr. Hada?" "No. Mr. Hada has been upstairs with his wife all night and day. We've tried to speak with him but his advisors tell us he will issue a statement later today." "Okay, thank you Janice for that report and we'll check back later today for the update," the reporter said as the station went to commercial break. Tiffany wiped a tear from her cheek and took a deep breath. She had to keep her composure at work. She had to hope and pray that Amir would soon call her and tell her his wife's condition. "Tiffany was that a report on Amir's wife?" Clark asked rushing down the stairs. "Yeah. They didn't really know anything though. They only said she was awake." "Oh. I just tried to call his office and his secretary said he wasn't expected in today. I guess he'll be at the hospital all day." "Yes, they said he had been there a long time." "Okay. I'm going to make a conference call. If by any chance Amir returns my call please interrupt," Clark said starting to walk back up the stairs towards his office. "Sure," Tiffany said hoping she would get a call from her secret lover anyway. She glanced back down at her desk and picked up the cigarette lighter that Clark had asked her to messenger over to Jan. Next problem, she thought. She quickly picked up the telephone from her desk and called the number to her estranged husband Skeeter's apartment on Bleecker Street. "Aren't you going to get that Skeeter?" Jan asked as she sat beside Skeeter on his futon sofa in his apartment on Bleecker Street. "The machine can pick it up," he said sure he had turned the volume on the answering machine down so low they wouldn't hear the caller. He also worried it would be one of the young girls he met a few days ago in a bar. "Fine. Let the machine pick it up then," Jan said anxious to get back to their argument. She was suspicious Skeeter had cheated on her. "Why did you come here accusing me of being with Elizabeth Ford?" Skeeter asked still angry that Jan had dropped by without calling. "Because I know you were with her," Jan said. "This is Skeeter Diamond…busy or out ...leave a message," the machine announced out loud to Skeeter's dismay. "Skeeter this is your wife Tiffany. Do you remember the cigarette lighter I gave you for Christmas when we lived in Lillard? I have it. Jan came by the office this morning and left it. I think you better quit smoking and give up women that are only using you," Tiffany said into the machine. "You left my lighter there?" Skeeter asked turning towards Jan and knowing instantly that she was guilty. "I thought you were seeing her all along Skeeter," Tiffany said into the machine, "This is why I've had trouble at my job. She's a mean natured back stabbing woman and she'll stab you too. I know you're seeing her to try and get her money. You'll never get it Skeeter; she's only using you to spite me. I hope you both get what you deserve and it's probably each other," Tiffany said slamming the phone down. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
