If you're sick of those chain coffee shops and familiar designer stores that look like they would be in the malls of everywhere USA...then head over to the Lower East Side of town.

Top right picture: Around the corner from Delancey Street on Norfolk you'll see a secret looking entrance marked only by an "L". Walk down the stairs and through the alley way and you'll find Lansky Lounge & Grill. This was the hangout for a Jewish mob boss in bygone days. Today, it's all renovated and the food is wonderful. Any restaurant good enough for a mob boss, that's an offer you shouldn't refuse.
