Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday July 19th 2001 "Jan hello," Clark said smiling broadly as his well-dressed client walked into his living room where he operated his party planning business. He watched as she closed the door behind her and quickly walked towards his sofa. "Is Tiffany here?" Jan snapped throwing her briefcase on the floor. "Not yet. You're here early this morning," Clark said sensing the familiar anger in her voice. "We've got to do something Clark," Jan said taking a seat on the sofa as he walked towards the chair across from her and took a seat. "What's wrong?" "Did you see "Go Gossip" last night?" she asked. "No. I went out to dinner," he said. "That indecent sister of Tiffany's went to Gracie Mansion and was filmed hanging all over my Father. She even had the nerve to say she would marry him," Jan said taking a pack of cigarettes from her purse and lighting one. "You smoke?" "When I'm really upset," Jan said throwing her lighter on the coffee table in front of her. "I didn't know," he said surprised to see her smoking. "Enough about my smoking…. God! I'm furious with that dumb blonde," Jan said. "I'm really sorry." "They even filmed me talking with Father and that bimbo next to him. The media is feeding on this," Jan said as her hands trembled with anger. "That's horrible." "You have to do something immediately," she snapped flicking her cigarette in the ashtray. "What can I do?" "Fire Tiffany." "Tiffany isn't the one having a romance with your Father Jan." "I know it's her sister though. If you fire Tiffany maybe they'll move back to Georgia where they belong." "I can't do that. It wouldn't be fair to Tiffany. She hasn't really done anything and she's a good worker." "How can you expect me to keep doing business with you and your company when you have her employed here?" "Jan your Father hired an outside company to do the party the other night at Gracie Mansion," he said feeling he had already lost their business. "I will be booking most of Amir's parties. I am the one that you need to cater too," she said as her eyes narrowed. "I just don't know what to do Jan. I'm truly sorry. I did let Tiffany go that time when you advised me and your Father insisted that I rehire her. Amir was angry too. What can I do?" "This is ridiculous…. I've never had to deal with such incompetence in my life," she said. "Maybe we should talk to her and see if there's some way we can stop this," he offered helplessly. "You better do something and you better do it right away or I'll see to it that you never do another party in this city," she said picking up her briefcase and walking briskly towards the front door. "I'll do every thing I can…. I'll talk to…." He said following her to the front door. "It better stop. I don't care what it takes to stop this. You just better stop it now," she said opening the door walking out and slamming it behind her. Clark walked back to his sofa defeated and took a seat. He glanced on the coffee table and saw the lighter Jan had left. He quickly picked it up and ran towards the front door and opened it. He watched Jan get into the limo as he stood in the doorway. Realizing he was already too late, he glanced down at the cigarette lighter and noticed the engraved initials . Jan's limo pulled out into the traffic at Washington Square Park. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
