Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday July 18th 2001 Tiffany put down the fashion magazine she was reading when she heard the front door of her apartment overlooking Washington Square Park open. "Starlene, that you?" she called out as she threw the magazine on the coffee table and sat up on the sofa. "Yeah, it's me," Starlene said slamming the door behind her and walking into the apartment they shared. "You didn't go to Gracie Mansion did you?" Tiffany asked certain that she had convinced her nineteen-year-old sister that going there was a terrible idea. "Yes I certainly did," Starlene said in her thick southern accent. "Oh no. Starlene I begged you not to do that." "Well, I had to," Starlene said walking towards the sofa and kicking off her high heels before taking a seat. "I really wish you hadn't done that." "Did Amir call you?" "No. I told you he'll probably never call me again after that incident," she said referring to the incident earlier in the afternoon when Amir came by in his limo to discretely pick her up and Starlene was being interviewed by the TV cameras. "It wasn't your fault I was getting interviewed. You had no way of knowing that was happening in front of the apartment building," Starlene said defending her sister. "I'm sure I embarrassed him wearing that short low cut dress of yours. Starlene, don't you have any dresses that cover your cleavage?" Tiffany asked noticing how revealing the white dress was that her sister was wearing. "You agreed with me before this happened that showing a little cleavage would make Amir happy. I'm sure he would have loved it. It was his limo driver punching out the reporter that started all of the trouble." She remembered how the limo carrying Amir left quickly after the incident which was captured on live television. "Well, what happened at Gracie Mansion? Did you get in? Did you see Stanley?" Tiffany asked thinking Starlene probably never got in since she didn't have an appointment. "I didn't get in, but I did see Stanley," Starlene said. "Oh," Tiffany said satisfied that the visit was probably harmless. "I think I'll be on TV. Maybe even national TV this time," Starlene said picking up the fashion magazine off the coffee table to search for the TV remote. "Really?" Tiffany asked disgusted with her media hungry young sister. "Yeah and two people recognized me today. First a cab driver and then the reporter for channel six," Starlene said her face lighting up when she saw the remote under the magazines. "That won't pay the rent Starlene. You better look for a job. You've been here since Christmas and you haven't gotten a job," Tiffany said noticing the skirt on the tight summer dress her sister was wearing barely covered her underwear it was so short. Starlene hit the "on" button and the TV screen lit up as Stanley's familiar voice filled the living room. Tiffany watched in shock. "What a surprise to see both of you here," Stanley said as his eyes darted down Starlene's low cut dress. The camera turned to Stanley's angry daughter Jan. "Why don't you tell her to go home. She was trying to get interviewed on TV and she was probably talking about you Father," Jan snapped in disgust as Stanley gazed down the low cut dress Starlene was wearing. "She's so mean to me Stan," Starlene said pouting and pushing herself closer. "Why don't we go have lunch and talk this over ladies?" Stanley asked. "No. I'm not having lunch with your harlot," Jan snapped. "I'm not a harlot am I Stanley?" "No honey," Stanley said frowning at his daughter. "You do love me don't you Stanley?" Starlene asked reaching forward to kiss the older man and resting her bosom on his arm as the camera zoomed in. "Yeah honey," he said. The hand of the guard at Gracie Mansion rested on the lens of the TV camera. The screen showed the reporters in the television studio. "That's it from Gracie Mansion for now. We will add that Starlene told us in an earlier interview that she would marry the multimillionaire. Sounds like a new episode of Family Feud on the horizon. We'll be back later tonight with more on the other drama that's unfolding at New York University Hospital concerning the awakening of Amir Hada's comatose wife," the reporter said. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PICTURES BELOW.
