Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday July 16th 2001 "We're here in front of Gracie Mansion with Starlene, Stanley Morgan's girlfriend," the reporter said as the television cameraman zoomed in on Starlene's voluptuous cleavage in the low cut white summer dress. Jan slammed the door of the taxi. The cab sped out into the traffic on 86th Street in Yorkville. She walked around the parked news van and saw Starlene in front of the camera as the reporter held a microphone towards her. Jan could feel her blood start to boil in anger in the heat of the hot July day. The little southern harlot was probably talking about her Father on camera right now, she thought. She quickly picked up her pace towards the front of the news van. "Yes, Stanley and I have been lovers for a long time now," Starlene said in her thick southern accent smiling unaware of Jan's approach. "Do you think you'll marry the multi millionaire?" "Probably." "Really…." The news reporters glanced behind him when he heard Jan clear her throat. "Stop that camera," Jan said as she walked towards the cameraman. "Look Stanley Morgan's daughter Jan has just arrived here at Gracie Mansion," the reporter said as the camera turned towards Jan. Starlene's face dropped in disappointment. "Stop the camera," Jan snapped. "Miss Morgan. We were just interviewing your Father's lover Starlene," the reporter said smiling sure this exclusive would boost his ratings at the television station. "She's not my Father's lover. Stop that camera," Jan said. "I am too!" Starlene said as the cameraman struggled to turn quickly towards the nineteen-year-old southerner. "Could the two of you stand closer together?"' the reporter asked. "I said stop the camera," Jan said. "We were here before you arrived Miss Morgan. Starlene was nice enough to give us a moment of her time," the reporter said. "She'll give anyone time that puts her on camera," Jan snapped. "I take it the two of you aren't friends," the reporter asked. "No we aren't," Jan said. "How do you feel about the fact Starlene might marry your Father one day? Then she'd be your step mother," the reporter said smiling as he enjoyed the visible hostility on Jan's face. "I'll sue you," Jan said pointing towards the cameraman. "Don't hit me!" he said. "Stop it," Jan said walking away towards the mansion as the camera zoomed in on her back. "That was Jan Morgan, the daughter of the wealthy Stanley Morgan and political advisor to Amir Hada. Seems there's some hostility between the two women in Stanley Morgan's life," the reporter said. "Hummm," Starlene said clearing her throat. "Sorry Starlene. We're sorry for the interruption. Now where were we?" the reporter asked as the camera refocused on Starlene. "I think you were asking me if Stanley and I would marry one day," Starlene said. "Miss Morgan just said that won't happen," the reporter said. "You watch me…. It will happen," Starlene said her eyes narrowing as she stared into the camera. "Looks like Stanley's coming out of the mansion now," the reporter said as the camera turned. Starlene turned and glanced up the driveway towards Gracie Mansion where she saw her older lover coming out of the gate. She saw Jan walking angrily towards her Father. "I have to go now," Starlene said smiling and quickly turning to walk up the driveway towards Jan and her Father. The cameraman and the reporter rushed following her as her high heels sounded on the pavement of the driveway of Gracie Mansion as she rushed towards her older wealthy lover. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
