Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday July 5th 2001 Tiffany and Starlene stepped off the elevator in her apartment building overlooking Washington Square Park. Tiffany quickly unlocked the front door of her apartment as the two sisters walked inside. Tiffany slammed the door behind them. "He'll call you Tiffany," Starlene said in her southern accent as she followed her older sister into the living room. "No he won't. I'll never see him again," she said throwing herself on the sofa and starting to cry. "Yes you will. It'll be okay. It'll be good publicity in the long run," Starlene said noticing how great her short, low cut dress looked on her sister. "I don't know how you can say that Starlene. I've probably ruined his chances for being mayor and embarrassed him in this tramp dress," Tiffany cried. "It's not a tramp dress. It's a sophisticated party dress," Starlene said defending her choice in clothing. "I look like a tramp Starlene. I never should have worn your dress. This isn't me," she said grabbing a Kleenex from the table next to the sofa. "You look great. I'm sure Amir's proud of you," Starlene said. "He drove away Starlene without even speaking to me. The driver of Amir's limo threw the reporter onto the limo. It will be all over the news and probably there'll be lawsuits…Oh God," she cried. "I don't think so. Well, we'll see. I wish I'd had more time on the air," Starlene said annoyed that the incident had erupted as she was getting ready to be interviewed by the local TV show "Go Gossip". "Is that all you think about Starlene? Is it?" Tiffany asked raising her voice in pain and anger. "Well, what else is there?" "People's feelings Starlene," Tiffany said. "I've got feelings too. Did it ever occur to you that I'm involved in this incident too." "What does that mean?" Tiffany said wiping her cheeks and trying to compose herself. "What if Stanley gets upset about this?" she said referring to her older lover and Amir's advisor. "I don't care." "Well I do." "What are you doing?" Tiffany asked watching Starlene walk angrily towards the phone. "I'm calling Stanley." "No. Don't call him Starlene." "Yes I am. I want to know how much trouble all of this has caused," she said as she picked up the phone and dialed the familiar number at Stanley Morgan's office. "Mr. Morgan's office," the young secretary answered. "Is Stanley there?" Starlene asked in her southern accent. "No, Mr. Morgan's at an emergency conference," the secretary said. "Where?" "Gracie Mansion," the secretary said. "Really. Is Amir there with him?" "May I ask who is calling?" the secretary asked wanting to confirm her thoughts that this was Stanley's young lover on the phone. "Oh hay, it's me, Starlene." "I can't say for sure Starlene. I only know that he left the office a few minutes ago after getting an emergency call from the Mayor. Do you want to leave a message?" "No. I'll call him back or maybe I'll go over to Gracie Mansion and see if I can catch him when he leaves," Starlene said satisfied that she could handle the crisis. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
