Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday July 2nd 2001 "You saw the television reports Starlene. Amir's wife has come out of the coma, I'll never see him again," Tiffany said watching her younger sister walk into the living room carrying a small plate with a sandwich on it. "Call him Tiffany and ask him how she's doin," Starlene said in her southern accent as she took a large bite from her turkey sandwich. She quickly glanced out of the window of the apartment overlooking Washington Square Park. "I can't Starlene. I think it's his place to call me. He knows I'm worried. He told me he's…." she stopped as the phone started to ring. "Maybe that's him," Starlene said watching Tiffany jump up from the sofa to answer the phone. "Hello," Tiffany answered. "Tiffany you see television report, no?" Amir asked in his broken English. "Yes. She's awake," Tiffany said trying hard not to allow the disappointment to reflect in her voice. "She wake up last night. They call me from hospital that I leave party and come to her immediately," he said referring to his having been called away from his own party at Gracie Mansion to rush to his comatose wife's side. "Does she know you?" Tiffany asked holding her breath as she waited for him to answer. "No. Not yet," Amir said. "This is good news though, right?" "This we hope." "That's wonderful," Tiffany lied. "I miss you," he said remembering her beautiful face and the touch of her soft skin. "I miss you too Amir. This is really hard for me. I wish I could see you," she said as tears started to roll down her cheeks. "Then we see each other," he said. "How? How can we possibly see each other now?" she asked referring to his need to keep his personal life away from the media since his announcement that he was running for mayor. "You come to my house this evening," he said. "What about the media?" "I come in car for you at six," he said. "Okay! I can't wait to see you." "Till then my love," he said blowing a kiss into the phone and hanging up. Tiffany hung up the phone and smiled broadly. "She's a vegetable isn't she," Starlene said assuming Amir's wife had never recognized him. "She's awake," Tiffany said. "Then why are you happy?" "Because at least he still wants to be with me. I was afraid she would wake up and he'd never see me again." "See I told you he loved you Tiffany." "I'm going to his house for the evening. I better get ready! I can't wait to see him. Maybe I'll wear that new sexy dress you said I could borrow," Tiffany said. "Sure. It looked great on you, shows your cleavage. I'm telling you Tiffany, cleavage gets you anything you want," Starlene said knowingly. "You might be right Starlene," Tiffany said smiling. She was still amazed at how her younger sister had gotten all the publicity and one of the wealthiest men in New York within just a few months of moving here. "I'm going to take a long shower and get ready," Tiffany said as she walked down the hall to the bathroom and closed the door. Starlene sat down on the sofa putting her empty plate from the sandwich on the coffee table. She picked up a fashion magazine to read when the phone rang. "Hello," she answered. "I would like to speak to Starlene," the strange voice said. "This is she talking," Starlene said in her heavy southern accent. "Starlene, this is Eric with 'Go Gossip TV'." "Oh hay!" Starlene said eagerly sitting on the edge of the sofa in excitement. "I know it's short notice but I'll have a camera and crew in the area of Washington Square Park around six this evening and I wondered if we could interview you?" Eric asked. "Sure!" CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
