Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday June 28th 2001 "That's it for tonight. We'll keep you posted," the reporter for 'Go Gossip" television said as she stood in front of Gracie Mansion. The local New York television station went to commercial break. Tiffany hit the 'off' button on the remote and threw it on the coffee table of her apartment overlooking Washington Square Park. "They'll have more on the evening news," Starlene said standing up and unzipping the revealing long red evening gown she had worn to the party last night. "It looked like Skeeter was with Jan," Tiffany said remembering the shots of Skeeter walking towards the waiting limo as Jan and a wealthy socialite were seen nearby. "It did look that way, but that other woman Elizabeth was with them, so maybe it was innocent," Starlene said certain she would never reveal her estranged brother in law's secret relationship with Jan Morgan. "Did he dance with her?" Tiffany asked glancing towards Starlene's voluptuous body as she stepped out of the expensive designer evening gown that Jan's Father Stanley had bought her. Starlene tossed the expensive low cut gown over the back of the sofa. "No. I didn't see him dance with her. Honestly Tiffany it seems like you'd be more worried about what Amir was doing than Skeeter," Starlene said picking up a soiled T-shirt from the chair and pulling it over her head. "Well I am concerned about Amir, but I can't do anything about his wife," she said referring to her secret lover's comatose wife. "If only they had told us what his wife's condition is," Tiffany said watching Starlene walk towards the kitchen. "Call him," Starlene said from the kitchen as she opened the refrigerator door and took out a cold soda to help quench her thirst from the hangover after too much champagne at the party last night. "No. I can't do that." "Then try another channel maybe they'll have something on that channel about it," Starlene offered walking back into the living room as she drank her soda. "You're right," Tiffany said picking up the remote and hitting the 'on' button quickly turning to headline news. "How are you and Stanley getting along?" Tiffany asked as the reporters talked about the President's foreign relations. "Great. I'm in love Tiffany," Starlene said thinking about Stanley's money as she took at seat on the sofa. "Yeah but is he in love?" Tiffany asked thinking about how old Stanley was to be with a young naive woman like her sister. "I think so, I really do. I can tell. You know a woman just knows these things," Starlene said putting her feet up on the sofa and pulling her Barbie T-shirt down. "He's a playboy Starlene. An old playboy." "And I'm his playmate Tiffany. I think he'll get me job modeling for Playbody soon. I posed for him some last night and he said he'd never seen anything so beautiful." "Shhh", Tiffany said hitting the button on the television. "Yes, Peter, the word from New York is that the Mayoral candidate Amir Hada rushed from his party last night at Gracie Mansion to go to the hospital bedside of his comatose wife," the reporter said standing in the bright sunshine outside of Gracie Mansion. "Do you have any news about her condition?" the reporter in the studio asked. "Yes. The latest reports are good," the reporter said. Tiffany sighed and hit the 'volume up' button. "We'll go now to New York University Hospital where Alexis is standing by with the latest reports, right after this commercial break." "Oh God Starlene she's doing better," Tiffany said worried that Amir would have to concentrate all of his attention on his wife now. "We're back at New York University Hospital with Amir Hada," the reporter said as the camera turned and Amir stood beside entrance to NYU on First Avenue. "Mr. Hada how is your wife?" the reporter asked. "She come out of coma last night," Amir said in his broken English. "That's wonderful news Mr. Hada. Congratulations. How many years has it been?" "Many, many years, since she speak," Amir said. "Did she recognize you?" the reporter asked. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE PHOTOS BELOW.
